Guild loot raid events

Tenacity brought up an idea that I fully support. There are some kinks in it that need to be worked out.

Guild Wealth Raid Events

On a scheduled day (or evening) we will seperate guild members into as many 10 man raiding parties as possible and head out into instances to raid strictly to gain wealth for the guild. All money earned during these raids (from drops or selling of items) will go straight into the guilds coffers.

Loot items will go straight to the treasurer(s) and they will update a post on the forums with what is now available for members to take and use. Operative word: USE. Requesting items so you can go and sell them at auction is strictly prohibited, these items are made freely available to guild members on a first come with need first served basis.

Issues that need to be dealt with:

Bind on Pickup items: There are two types, boss drops and class set items.

Class specific items drop in the higher level instances. To avoid isses with such drops, it will be best to avoid these instances for these events. This is the easiest and best solution for this.

Boss or named mob drops are often also BoP. For the most part...BoP should be sold for cash and the cash going into the guild coffers. These runs are not for farming for the items you want. Besides, you never know what was found in another raid. Also note, that say you are a level 45 running a SM raid. The maximum level item SM will drop for you is about 35 maybed a 37. But the level 60s will be running Sunken Temple, where drops average level 45. So you will be getting greater benefit from somebody elses raid then whatever BoP item may drop in yours.

Repair Costs
Running these instance will cost in repair and regeant costs. (Rogues will have to replenish some poisons, people will have used bandaids and everybody will have to repair their gear.)

It think the solution should be simple, such as, each member sells all the "vendor food" (grey items, food items and herbs) they collected. They repair their items. Then forward to the coffers the difference between when they started the run and now after the run and after repair costs.

When it comes to regeants, those are you own costs to cover. (remember, I am a rogue that uses alot of regeants such as poisons that have to be made from raw materials that are bought, flash powder for vanish has to be purchased and fadeleaf for blind has to be found or bought off the auction also. So it is very expensive for us rogues.)

might i recommend that instead of vendoring BoP items or other greens that ppl will not need
IE
(caster staves with +str/agil ect) that they go to enchanters to disenchant so the guild enchanters (melko and whoever else) can get mats to do guild enchants for free or at greatly reduced costs.

Items to keep generally are
Eagle(intel/stam)
Bear(str/stam)
Tiger(str/agil)
Monkey(agil/stam)

just my suggestion this is what i have been doing with my characters, all other gear has been sent to Eorll to be Disenchanted for mats that i can either (A) sell for gold (B) give to melko for my own personal enchants.

the items though that i had listed above i would place on the AH for my own gold. this is just my suggestion.

also maybe taking certian items from the guild bank (like scarlet set pieces) and selling them on the AH would be a better idea, Raw gold>gear IMO because most gear pre-lvl 40 is going to be replaced in 3-5lvls usually. just some suggestions to hopefully fill the guild coffers and help the guild out.

Yep that's what came to my mind while reading the OP...I agree with LoJ...we should d/e bop's because:

A) Provide mat for guild enchants, and

B) Usually u get mat that is of greater value by disenchanting...and putting it on AH would give us a bigger return...if gold is what we really want.

edit: oh another thing u said we'll have raid(s), so i'm hoping we can have some during EST timings cause so far all the events are held to late for for us east folks...can't stay up till 3am to play a game!

.seek.
