I ordered my game online like 2 months ago and it shipped today, i'm supposed to get it in 3to 5 business days but they are locking accounts as of tomorrow for those without their retail key yet... I'm frustrated. = /

Yikes, this has me worried. There seems to be conflicting information out there. On one hand, the official Mythic web site has this (annoyingly flippant) announcement, that has the 7 a.m. Friday deadline:

Mythic Retail Key Deadline Announcement

However, Warhammer Alliance has a long-running thread that has September 22nd (Monday) as the deadline:
Warhammer Alliance thread

But that thread (and ones like it) point a quote from the Mythic SE and CE headstart pages and that quote no longer seems to be on those pages.

There's also a Warhammer Alliance thread that basically is a reaction to the Mythic post of today that's much more lengthy and [reader beware] contains some pretty coarse comments from folks whose weekend plans appear to have been foiled.
Registration Deadline

and an IGN vnboards thread that includes some posts from Marc Jacobs that basically say, um, "tough luck" ... sigh
IGN Boards thread

Definitely concerned ... since I won't have my box by tomorrow, Meathammer may end up being Meathellokittyislandadventure for me...

This is so messed up the page use to show 9/22 for the cut off date to enter the code and still does if you use the Google cache but they removed it. So I ordered with standard shipping which means I get it 9/22 but now I can't play this weekend. The snippy remarks from Mark Jacob on those boards doesn't help at all either. The launch was going so well hope this doesn't blow up in there face.

And what's up with this note on the herald??!!!

"All servers will be coming down tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM EDT for some updates and fixes. As always, our goal is for a smooth, fun game experience and these updates will definitely help us work toward the best experience possible for everyone! We expect to be back online by 1:30 PM EDT and will keep you posted here on the Herald throughout the morning. Thanks for your support!"

Uh... that's like half the day!!!

There's a new post from Marc Jacobs on page 30 of the IGN forums. I have no idea what it means, it's half totally defensive and half maybe hope-inspiring and half completely deflating. And yes, those make 3 halves but that's about as much sense as it makes.

Actually, starting with page 30, he's made lots of posts. So it's nearly 1 a.m. in the morning, I'm sure he hasn't slept in weeks with pre-launch stuff, and he's up dealing with forum trolls now. That is impressive, no matter how annoying the core issue is.

so yeah... I can't get in anymore. Not sure if it's because the servers are down or because i don't have a key to put in! And man, there is some entertaining stuff on the IGN boards!!! very entertaining!

Seriously. You have Mythic's GM being extraordinarily interactive and participatory into the wee hours of the morning, but speaking very cryptically ... combined with some posters thinking they've "solved the riddle," others ranting, others posting walls-of-text-that-they-somehow-think-will-be-more-convincing-to-someone-in-charge-than-the-prior-wall-of-text, others just getting on to the boards and trying to figure out what this is all about.

My hypothesis, similar to what lots of people on the boards have said, is that the rush for open beta and headstart codes over the last two weeks has led to retailers completely misreading demand signals and overinventorying SE boxes. Probably had lots of preorders through last weekend, then maybe saw a surge of cancellations through launch day (as folks got one headstart code to work and then canceled others ... or maybe people used the open beta as their "Free trial" and decided it wasn't for them and then cancelled). Then, come launch day, their shelves did not clear as expected, and they have some threat over Mythic (not accepting any WAR shipments for some period of time? some more generic action on EA in general? some sort of liquidated damages in the whole "partner" agreement they put together for the Pre-Order) that's led Mythic to adopt the 7 a.m. cutoff as the least worst option

And now there's this confused period where no one can get on because of the server downtime, so, like Tree, no one without a CD validation knows whether they can actually get on or not ... but once it's early afternoon, the hordes will start getting restless. If the servers aren't up because of maintenance, there will be annoyed people but it's least it's "equal bummage." If the servers come up, the validation issue isn't resolved, and the UPS and FedEx trucks have finished their routes and people haven't gotten their boxes ... there will be some bitterly upset diehard CE fans who will get very vocal (although then threads'll get locked too prolly). Sigh. Never knew how exciting launch weekends could be.

Looks like the Mythic crew has woken up and rolled into work ... page 84 of the IGN thread, about halfway down:
More from Marc

There's a hopeful word:
"Just so you know, we are continuing to deal with this situation and I expect we'll have a resolution/update by early afternoon if not before." ... but he finally just goes right ahead and admits they have a big issue with pre-order codes and cancellations, too.

Having seen the shipping delays for WOW:TBC, I scoured the city for two copies and bought the pre-order at Best Buy. Yeah, I (well, Mrs. Me, actually) had to go pick them up, but they were ready and waiting Wednesday.

After months of faithful beta testing service to Mythic. After purchasing the CE edition hours after available.

I am now an inactive account for Mythic.

Congratulations to them for making me feel unimportant.
