Griffon farming how-to?

Ha ha, found this on page 51...

Build 1: Solo Griffon Farmer Whammo (War/Monk)
Axe Mastery 7+2=9 (rune + helmet)
Tactics 8+1=9 (rune)
Healing Prayers 9
Smiting Prayers 12
3 pieces of Gladiator's Armor (+6 energy)
1 piece (boots or gloves) Ascalon or Knight's Armor

Skills:
Cyclone Axe
Bonetti's Defense
Gladiator's Defense
Vigorous Spirit
Balthazar's Aura
Live Vicariously
Mending
Healing Breeze

This is a build meant for taking out 6-12 melee mobs at once.
Step 1: Put on Mending and Live Vicariously. This should leave you with above 10 energy.
Step 2: Gather mobs, careful to try to avoid gathering anything that disrupts.
Step 3: Add Vigorous Spirit.
Step 4: Cyclone Axe, which will give you enough adrenaline to activate Bonetti's.
Step 5: Bonetti's will give you enough energy to activate Balth's Aura. Your energy should refill while casting it. Immediately activate Glad's defense to put out 45 damage per second to any enemies attacking you in melee range.
Step 6: Cyclone Axe ---> Bonetti's. Repeat as necessary until the cast time for Balth's Aura recycles. Recast Vig Spirit as necessary.
Step 7: Balth's + Glad's again = dead mobs! Enjoy your treasure and 1k experience!

Ya griffon farming used to be big before the desert nerf when they added the green boss in the desert. But now they can only be found in a few scattered out areas, one outside of dunes of despair, and another out side of aug. rock. I dont know if those builds work anymore because of the newest AoE nerf. Plus they dont drop gold and purp items as often as they used to.

Well there's still a build w/o AoE, I forget how it goes exactly but it's like...

Triple Chop
Executioner's Strike
Penetrating Blow
Cyclone Axe
Balthazar's Spirit
Live Vicariously
?
?

That's all I know.
 
Only one i know of is the same build that you use for vermin farming can be used for griffions/minotaurs.
Triple chop, Cyclone axe, boenettis defense, live vicariously, mending, vig. spirit, your choice of axe skill and healing breeze. usually you dont need healing breeze but is good in case you get into trouble.

i saw one on Wiki that only uses proph skills. which is good news for you twinny. it is Doylak, glad defence, live vicarisoulsy*, healing breeze, bonettis, cyclone axe, mending and one other gosh it escapes me right now. i will find it though.

You dug that up from like 2005, didn't you?

That is a SERIOUSLY old post for an activity that was nerfed in three different ways:

1. AoE scatter, probably caused by the proliferation of this build and 55 monk builds.
2. Recharge times of LV and the other health regen skill were extended. When that just meant you killed in slightly smaller groups,
3. BAM. Boss Necro to strip your enchantments.

Someone should try to find my "story" from the griffon's point of view.

Balthazar's spirit for energy/adrenaline, I think.
 
Well I mastered it basically I use Cyclone Axe, Healing Breeze, Bonetti's Defense, Mending, Live Vicariously, Dolyak Signet, Zealot's Fire, and Warrior's Endurance (elite).

So I ad-libbed and developed sort of my own and sort of what other people told me. I call it "Enduring Cyclone Axe Farmer".

Liek, wewt.


So... now I'm bored. I'll probably use all the iridescent griffon wings to get the desert collector's items to have or just to sell, but other than that I just do this for fun.




Wanna know where the money's at, though? One word: Hydras. There's a bajillion of them everywhere, and one of 'em is bound to have a decent drop. So let's find a hydra farming build! (I was told to use a "HH Adrenaline build", but I couldn't find that anywhere)
 
There is a hydra farming build which consists of using Balanced Stance to not get knocked down by Meteor and armor boosting skills which can give you like 168 armor constantly. I've never used it, but my steel trap mind does remember it exists. Used for the hydras outside Ember Light Camp.
 
Ya I used to use riposte and deadly riposte build for that but found out 55 is easier. Link to warrior hydra build from guru, dont know how old it is or if it still works but im sure its worth a try. This Link is a group of huge amout of builds put together for farming, weither its soloing for greens or killing for loot. It is an awesome resource, watch out cause some of the builds are old and outdated.
