Green Peace wants joo!

haha... i first read that and thought it literally meant, make the consoles the color green...

BUT...

I'm actually, relatively surprised that the video game companies haven't .

Has Microsoft done it for their computers?

Has Sony done it for their electronics (i.e. tv's, dvd players, etc.) ?

meh, I'm all for helping keep the environment clean... so, i guess it wouldn't hurt.

iirc, both sony and microsoft have plans to be more env friendly with their products within the next 4-8 years. Nintendo is the worst off with no declared plans.

Greenpeace has, in the past, partaken in some questionable methodologies to get their message across, but I do like the core of their organization. Plus Orbital, my favorite band in the history of ever, teamed up with them once to raise funds with the sales of their CD singles, also promoting a solar-powered RV that GP had made.

In any case, I'm glad to see them put a little pressure on the electronics manufacturers. A lot of these products are pretty bad for the environment. I'm glad that the demand for CRT monitors had decreased so much in recent years.

Woot for Nintendo! At least they're talking to Greenpeace about it, hopefully the other guys will follow suit. I'd like to see the entire electronics industry clean up a bit, especially considering how many gadgets people have nowadays and the increasing disposability of said items.
