Just to clear things up the server is located in Atlanta Georgia. I know this because Ive talked with the guy who hosts ToJ and Fls and he has 2 locations and ToJ is located at the Atlanta one. This is good for me because I live all of 20miles from Atlanta and I get one of the lowest pings in ToJ. w00t.

Of course as soon as i have my pc all set up and bought they release 256mb cards in the UK.. bleh.
Well as for 256mb...
I hear the radeon 9800 spanks the new 5900 nividia card on all current games though. The nvidia only takes the lead on ultra high resolutions (ut2k3 at 1600x1200) and in games with dynamic shaders needed (like doom3 and hl2)...
so i think that cards not gonna get much sales this year...lol

Bah I like Radeon better than GF...I hate my GF and if I could afford to replace it I would but I can't so I'll just stick to this crappy card =(.
Currently have a geforce? 64mb.

Everyone had a ping around the 50's i was around 330.
it's what you have to pay living 'down under', playing with other Yankee ToJ-ers

I was going to get the AIW version, but newegg went out of stock because it was a refurb, and there was only 1.

Icrease your monitor refresh rate because it can limit your fps, ie 60 hz, 60 fps. (im sure it's not that simple but you can get the idea)
Turn off Vsync on your card settings. In in the glsettings
type "max_fps 100" in your console when playing, as half life has it's standard settings at 72 fps. (in my last post i said i was getting 72, now i get 99.9/100 on the Toj server and i have a ping of 350!!!)
So now when i play, it actually helps. Especially in NS, if you have a higher fps you actually get more hits in that someone with low fps.

- actually it is that simple 60Hz = 60fps, therefore you monitor has to be set at 100Hz to ever get 100fps (no matter what your computer sez u are getting)
- Contrary to what most people think, Vsync does not 'slow you down.' All its doing is limiting the fps to the Hz of your monitor, so the graphics card can use its processing power on other things better, ex anti-aliasing, dithering, etc.
-Turning off vsync therefore improves ping, but loses some slight graphics card speed...However that loss should be unnoticeable on a game like cs

Cool, i find my fps on most servers at 60 but sometimes I get 75fps on GD servers. Thats why I want one for our clan.

w00t w00t, installz0red my spankin' new 9700 pro. and yes, I said spankin', because it spanz0rz j00r cardz0rz.
lol some how.. when i use refreshfix.. it changes the refresh rates sometimes with out my will.. Current resolution for normal windows is 1280x1024 and max refresh rate is 70.. it keeps comin bak to 60 -_-; but o well other resolutions keeps theres.. so finally i fixed the fps problem.. but i cannot change the ping on ToJ.. yet, i can still use 5-7 and dualies like they work
