Good anime series this season?

Can anyone recommend any anime series from this season?

I've started watching Bleach and Naruto now that the fillers are over; I'm also about half-way through Welcome to the NHK! Stargate SG-1 is over, season 3 of Stargate Atlantis has come to an end, Fox has developed a nasty habit of airing one House episode a month on average, and my wife has lost all interest in Battlestar Galactica.

Also, any series you can recommend from the past 2-3 seasons would also be relevant as I've been somewhat out of the loop for a while.

And just to clarify: I'm talking about what's airing in Japan this season, not the four year-old and atrociously dubbed content airing on Cartoon Network.

bleach was good till 70, naruto sucks in america. i want good anime.......

Lost is pretty good! Oh wait... anime...

*runs and hides*

But seriously, if you're looking for anything to watch I suggest the following: Lost, 24, Prison Break, Vanished (even though it was cancelled), Monk, NCIS, and of course Spongebob Squarepants.

Note: This is my 900th post! w00t!

Kanon was a good drama series

Code Geas: Lelauch of the Rebellion is awesome sci-fi/mecha

Ghost Hunt is a supernatural thriller...

Innocent Venus & Soukou no Strain are older series which were quite good (though Soukou no Strain has a bit of nudity)

the series i'm looking forward to, and waiting patiently on the fansubs are:
Moonlight Mile
Romeo X Juliet
Heroic Age
El Cazador de la Bruja
Claymore
Engage Planet Kiss Dum
Toward the Terra
Bokura no
Sola

That's all I'm expecting from now until June or so....in the later half of the year there's an anime called Clannad - but that will be around October at the earliest...

I'm currently watching Inu Yasha.

*comes back out of the crack on the floor with a bright red face*

"Oh my woo it's like DBZ for girrrls"

My next choice is gonna be Hunter x Hunter.

Wow. Another anime elitist on the forums. Nice to know I'm not the only one. :D

I'll see if I can dig up some episodes from the series you listed, Kidan.

EDIT: And, just for the record, I use "anime elitist" as a compliment.

blah all anime has slowed after I became a FLCL die hard, nothing fills the void that is in my mind for weird and unexplainable reason for what goes on in the episodes like FLCL... MORE FLCL FTW !!!!!!!

Welcome to the NHK! features the same artist as FLCL, though I must warn you that the series does deal with adult topics.

The only anime I could ever stomach was FullMetal Alchemist. Of course, I haven't had cable in two years, so there may well be something out there on Adult Swim that I might like... when they aren't trying to blow up Boston with LED signs.

Tek - aye, anime elitest is better than anime otaku so.. ;)

As for the Kanon series - there's two of them, one from 2002, and one from 2006. I suggest the 2006 version (and since it just recently finished being aired in Japan, you should be able to get a download of the entire thing in one fell swoop).

Whon - FLCL is freaky beyond belief. Half the time I have no idea what's going on there - but that might be because I've only caught ti on AdultSwim and not in consecutive order...

wildbill - that's why i love fansubs ;) also, the cartoon network can be watched live from your Google homepage (as a plugin), so you should be able to watch it there...

I am currently finishing Trigun...however it is animated by Geneon, I do not like there animation. At first I didn't like Trigun, but as I am getting to the end of it, I really like it.

I'm trying to expand my horizons in the anime arena, but I just don't know where to come across anything that doesn't "suck". I have cable which means all I have to pick from is what's on there or Adult Swim. I ALMOST picked up this shiny gold box of Naruto because people around here seem to like it, but if it sucks here I don't know, I don't wanna spend $40 on it if it's not good. However, going back to Neirai's post, I watch the DBZ for boys, Dragonball Z :D, because most of the time it makes me giggle. So what would be suggested for a noob like myself that I can come across easily. I can never stay up late enough for Bleach so when I do happen to be awake I just get confused, and the bookstore only has the manga starting at Volume 9 right now.

If that's all out of whack and disorganized, I apologize, I was fighting with sheetrock all day in the cold.

American DB, DBZ, DB-GT, and Naruto all have the same problem... Americans what too much money. 40 bucks for 4 dvd that only have like 4 episodes each... that's $2.50 an episode comon. When I first started my collection it was because to DBZ and I started by purchasing FLCL, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop... and with tek's help perhaps Welcome to the NHK!

Kidian - my suggestion is to read the episodes and definitely watching the series in Jap with english subs. read read read and the secrets unwind.

Well I just got 39 episodes, 15 hours of DBZ for $30 at Best Buy :D

And the Shiny gold Naruto box was $36 maybe and I'm assuming had more than 40 episodes
