fury tank

Well I am thinking of being a fury tank for awhile so I can still solo quest fast and also help my group with tanking since we might have some changes coming. Last night I tanked mech, I did OK, I didnt hold aggro as well as I should but I didnt lose it as much as honestly I thought I would and I could taught them back .

What would be the best moves I can use as a fury tank. and yes I know that fury is the worst for aggro holding.

I'm not sure what you mean by fury tank. If you mean taking talents in fury and protection trees, yes it works (NOTE: my experience is only to lvl 64). You can do decent damage, but won't be at top of the dmg meter. You can tank, but probably not be MT in tough boss fights.

I'm lvling my tank 0/31/x. I messed up on some talent selctions, so don't copy my build, but I'm keeping 31 fury then rest in prot. When I hit 70 I'll go Prot-spec. In the meantime, I'm able to kill fairly quick for questing and still tank 5-mans (w/ tanking gear).

I think you could try something like this and have all the necessary talents for tanking most things. Again, I say this without having seen lvl 70 instances.

Edit: Here is a thread in WoW forums about fury/prot builds.

I have 3 in prot for rage gen when changing stances. I've done all the lvl 70 instances as MT except BM and from time to time I OT in karahzan

Rhys, have your normal group get threat meters. They can help you hold aggro. Dps warriors need more help, because they don't have the improved threat gen from the prot tree. There are some things you can do to lessen the loss of aggro: Peircing Howl, Hamstring, intercep moves.. (The first 2 slow down mobs heading to kill your healers..and when it's safe, you can also fear)

Typically, not always..though, save all 3 of your taunts (yeah you have 3) for emergency snap aggro.
Taunt, Challenging Shout and Mocking blow. Use them wisely.. (You can use CS on a single targe.) If it's an emergency, blow it.

Other then that, find out which abilites produce the ..fastest, greatest threat and spam them.. I think revenge got nerfed..make sure any threat gen lists are up to date.

Typically in lvl 70 runs..in a good group, holding aggro perfectly is not required on trash mobs.. It's more important on bosses.. (This doesn't mean you shouldn't try as hard as you can, I'm just saying don't worry to much if you lose aggro now and again in a blitz style runs. It happens to prot warriors to.

Multi-tanking: Thunderclap, cleave, piercing howl.

the tanking bit is a little tougher then normal, but I can dps almost as well as before. SO I can tank and dps well enough

Oh and today I looked at the title of this thread a little too fast and thought it said "furry tank". I was thinking: "Hey I have one of those (feral druid)". Oh what a difference one "R" makes. :p
