I tried the demo. Ignoring the acronym title, that guy's video did give a good idea of what the game was about. However he didn't really point out the negatives of the game and his bias toward liking it for whatever reason is obvious (suspicious Gerbil is suspicious). I wouldn't call it a review as much as a "let's play" a few minutes of.
My quick thoughts about the game itself are...
The Good: Decent ai, not rocket scientist but not rocks for brains (though the demo skirmish mode is locked into one mode with 4 to 3 units in the computer's favor). The levels are procedurally generated in skirmishes creating a different game each time. The classes combine in a rock, paper, scissors kind of way. The rocket launchers pressure you to keep you away from cover because they can't hit you directly. To juxtapose that bullet classes will have you taking cover which creates a very nice dynamic of positioning. The trick is bringing all the classes to bear on one guy at a time. The game does make you think.
The Bad: I understand there are additional game modes even so I am not seeing a great deal of variety in store for the full game. The single player skirmishes are a mixed bag depending on how the level generates. It doesn't always happen but you can find one of your guys or one of the computer's guys hopelessly surrounded and therefore doomed at the start, this unbalances the rest of the match.
Other thoughts: While it is decent the Ai will doubtlessly get boring eventually. That is probably why they are selling the game in two packs to create a larger player base. That means how long you play this game will be directly related to if you can find an opponent.
If you find yourself in a stalemate the games do have a maximum number of turns where the player with the most units at the end wins.
I didn't try the multiplayer (or didn't look to see if I could in the demo) but I'd think there would be a time limit on each turn to keep matches short. This combined with the nature of the game and the fact it loads quick makes me think it'd be a nice quick thing to challenge a buddy to if you are chatting on steam or something.
The allegedly "fantastic" music was largely not playing in the demo for whatever reason so I can't give a real opinion of it. What I did hear of it was cyberpunk sounding but rather generic and forgettable.
Moral Content: I could not assess the story mode but there was no language in the demo parts I saw. Dead units leave blood spots but given the minimalistic graphics it's rather unreal.
Bottom line: If both you and a friend like playing quick, turn based, strategy games together I'd give it a go. It's pretty cheap for two guys. If you don't have someone to play it with it becomes more of a questionable purchase.
