To continue as God placed within me to share:
As we live our lives we will take a stand on different issues and not change our mind. We may insist there is no mayo on our sandwich, we may strongly prefer a salad over a hamburger and we can have the deepest desire to protect our family no matter what the cost.
But how often do we maintain the protection of God Himself? It seems too easy to be distracted by certain things, and much of the time we don't even notice. Too many times we find ourselves taking matters into our own hands, believing something we shouldn't, going where we shouldn't or saying things we don't mean. We have the ability to avoid much stress or concern if we lean on God Himself and rely not on our own understanding.
The secret to this is God's Armour. His Refuge and Protection and Strength flow right from Heaven and surround us in solidity and creates a Spiritual barrier between our Light-filled lives and the darkness which surrounds us. In other words: "More of Him and less of me."
Once we begin to focus on God's ability to protect us we can feel more confident in our situations and recognize our own understanding will cause us to fall, whereas having on God's Armour allows better performance in our ability to remain firm in our decision to follow Christ and Christ alone.
Dearest Father, bring unto us the ability to recognize You and You alone maintain our lives according to Jeremiah 29:11. Bring us into better understanding of Your Will, Your Word and Your Way in our lives and help us to maintain stability in the belief that You and You alone are our Ultimate Protection from the darkness which persists in it's attempts to make us fall. Help us to stand firm with Your Son, Jesus, and in His Mighty Name we pray. Amen.
