I want to set up a forum for a game that a group of friends and I love to play. I was wondering if someone could help me with pointers on how to set up forums, and what software I can use. Right now we've got free space set up on ezboards, but as most people know, ezboards kind of stinks.

At the moment, I figured that I would host it off of my business' website (www.airforcefun.com), and then maybe later register a domain name and get webspace specifically for it.

Don't worry, we won't be in competition with cgalliance. ;)
 
well powweb has PHP support by you need to pay them $10 to activate your SQL database. Forums require a database
 
cool, i knew about that...but I don't know how to do anything with it.

 I'm reading up on PHP, and I know nothing about SQL. Honestly, I'd rather find some files where someone else has done the work, and then all I have to do is modify it to suit my needs.  Go ahead, call me lazy.

Cool, that wasn't too hard to figure out. Now I've just gotta work at customizing the board, and I need to find some skins for it.
