Five Man UBRS Group - Forming

Bowser

Tribe of Judah StarCraft Series Chapter Leader
I'm interested in doing UBRS in a five man group before BC releases, so that means it needs to be done really quickly.

The following classes are what is needed: Paladin, Warlock, Mage, Hunter, and a Restoration Druid or Holy/Discipline Priest. For a possible sixth class I will consider either a feral druid, rogue (preferably w/ imp. sap), or DPS warrior.

Some of these spots are already filled, and some will be filling shortly. Due to the possibility of people dropping out of the "raid" I won't say what class is available and what's not.

Everyone will need to bring their own potions.

Anyone is invited, included those coming from other guilds. Even if you've never done UBRS before you are welcome to come, but you must be able to play your class well and follow instructions.

This "raid" is really just for fun and getting to know your guildies and friends better, and a possibility to make new friends. Obviously, it's also a very difficult challenge.

is a 57 rogue high enough? as a side note, I have imp sap rank 2 so 60% chance, next level I get rank 3.

Schmeea is available with her improved sap any nights but Tues. I would appreciate advanced notice as this has been kind of a busy time of year, but I'd love to go with ya'll. ****sharpens daggers****

I'd be more than happy to offer up Baddwin's services (I can bring a big nasty-looking offtank with a wicked axe, too!). It would depend on what time you want to make the run, though. before 9pm ST during the week is tough for me, but may be doable. (And Thursday nights. I have a life group that meets at my house until 9-9:30 ish)

Thanks, guys. So far I have one warlock, two hunters, two priests, and two rogues interested in going. I still need a good mage to join us, preferably with good gear and either specced in fire or frost.

Thanks to all those who have shown interest so far. I will only be picking 4-5 people for this run, so unfortunately it looks like I won't be able to invite everyone. However, I'd be willing and will probably be wanting to do this multiple times.

Here's how our UBRS team looks so far:

Priests: Icthus, Heavencent (On Standby)
Warlocks: Baddwin
Hunters: Trevvee, Icthus (On Standby)
Mages: Nekrozmayge (On Standby)
Rogues: Hoborg (On Standby), Schmeea (On Standby)

It looks like our team is almost ready to go. I would be interested in going as early as 9pm ST tonight or Saturday night. Please let me know how this fits into your schedule by posting below or messaging me.

I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun with you!

9pm is getting a bit late for me on weeknights as my hours have changed and I have to work an hour earlier in the morning's now, but if we can get started right away, I'm open for tonight. Saturday night is also good.

Well, tonight might not be good then - Schmeea needs to start early, I need to start late. I host a church life group on Thursday nights that doesn't usually end until 9-9:15 ST. I might be able to get on as early as 9:30 - more likely I'll be closer to 10. Friday or Saturday nights should be good for me, though.

I might be a bit tired by 9pm ST tonight and Saturday I'll be busy all day. Sunday I'm looking to be entirely free...except going on a BRD smelting/TB rep turn in/making presents run.

I'm in Scarlet Monastery on my mage when I get a whisper from Baddwin asking when this whole UBRS thing is going to start. I realize that almost everyone that expressed interest in going was already on, and although it was late, I started asking around seeing who wanted to go. Everyone did; I think I had enough people wanting to go to fill two raids.

However, only four people were picked, and Heavencent, Trevvee, Baddwin, and Asokor was invited to this little "raid".

We all did an amazing job, no wipes whatsoever until we got to Beast. No deaths on Rend and all his adds, and suffered very few deaths before that.

That was by far one of the best and smoothest groups I've ever been in for UBRS, including the days when we could 15 man it. Everyone knew exactly what they were doing, and they did a great job. I was extremely impressed with everyone who showed up.

We didn't get to Drakkisath, but I am determined to have him defeated soon.

I think Trevvee FRAPSed most of the fight, I can't wait to see what he has so far.

Thanks to all who attended and showed interest in going. I'll be doing this again soon.

I had a great time on the run, thanks for putting it together. It was really fun to take on a challenge like that with a really switched-on group. Pulling a couple extra adds and handling them with little trouble in a 5 man (and with Asokor playing with the dragon whelps, at that :p ) was a huge rush. Personally, I was really impressed with how well Tebran was able to hold aggro. I wasn't shy about opening up with a Curse of Shadows and then chain casting Shadowbolts, or dropping a series of Rain of Fires on groups, and rarely pulled aggro. I may have had Salvation (I don't recall which blessing I had), but I was dropping some pretty serious DPS, and felt like I was very safe doing so. I think the new spec lines have brought some really fun abilities, and a pretty fair boost in power for those classes that I'm familiar with. I can't imagine having been this successful without the new talent trees.

And thanks for letting me test out my new pet in an instance. I've done little with him but PvP so far. He seemed to add some nice flexibility, and my DPS meter (which I place little stock in, but like to use to see when I'm dropping in efficiency) had him hovering about 3rd or 4th in the group, and within spitting range of the top tier, so he was definitely contributing there, too. And, as always, thanks for putting up with my bad jokes. =)

Next time you go, give me a holler. I'm always up for taking on a crazy challenge.

(And 5 manning The Beast to 21% and 18% on our first go at it wasn't too shabby, either...)

Man that was so crazy. I was surprised at how easy it was with just 5 people. During the run I would actually forget that there were just 5 people. It was definitely a lot of fun and nerve racking when someone would be blinking red on my screen and I'd say to myself "I'M NOT SPAMMING FLASH HEAL FAST ENOUGH!!" Hehehe =P

Bowser, you had all kinds of fun with five man instances yesterday. We did a 5 man strat run with all pallies. Me and Bowser as protection specced, champ and cit as holy and Azzie as retribution. Made for an interesting group. 5 pallies makes for a ton of buffs and auras. There was a ton of holy damage flying around too. Thanks to DIs, we never completely wiped. Baron was kinda interesting. Right about 30% health, cit and champ ran out of mana to heal and I think all of us started to cross heal each other. Of course with a group of all pally's does lightforge drop? No, but valor did so it was not all bad.

Yeah, it's amazing how many buffs you can get with 5 paladins. 5 unique auras, five unique blessings, and not to mention all the buffs you can cast on yourself, and all the many judgements you can cast on the target. A group of 5 paladins is pretty powerful.

On another note, If the guild will allow me to do it I'd like to offer up challenges like our 5 man "raid" on a consistent basis. I think it will help with the classes' roles in the bigger raid dungeons, and will help with using all the classes' abilities in a tight situation.

I also want to stress that Player > Gear, as was evident in our 5 man raid in UBRS.
