First GW2 Character?

I've been having some trouble deciding but I think I'm going to create a human elemenatalist first but I'm actually going to play a norn guardian the most. Reasoning behind this is I want to be able to see a little bit of the human story and what all has happened since GW1. I just love the norn and the viking/Nordic culture and think GW2 may have a made a pretty cool personality and style that comes with them.

I've played the paladin types a lot and was a big fan. Plus having a norn as a groups guardian just seems to make sense.

I'm probably going to roll quite a few characters at first and eventually end up playing the two or three that end up being the most fun.

Day one is probably going to be Charr anything... Warrior or Thief makes the most sense to me... I can't imagine what a back-row Charr would look like.

Week one will probably see a Human Guardian and an Asuran Necro or Thief (an invisible Asuran pickpocket is probably as close as I'm going to get to rolling Bilbo Baggins).

I also want to make a Ranger pretty quick... probably either Norn or Human... a Charr with a pet seems weird to me.
 
I'll of course be creating one of each type on day 1, but I'm leaning towards an Asuran Thief as the main. We'll see who grabs favor.
 
I've heard speculation about an engineering profession. If that's available I'll be rolling a human engineer as my main.
 
If they have a software engineer class, I'll definitely roll that.

Script magic on the fly, oh yeahhhhh!
 
I'll make a human mesmer* for playing through the story and general gameplay and I'll also make a norn ranger solely for world PvP just because it's a possibility to do so.

*tentatively, as the mesmer hasn't actually been revealed yet
 
I like the Norn Guardian - or maybe a Norn Ranger or Warrior. I've not done a Mesmer - maybe a Sylvarian or Asuran. I'll do something Human as well - maybe Guardian or Elementalist.
 
Sylvari first, class maybe necro or ranger, then Asuran, guardian or ele. Charr smell like wet dogs so it will be a while before rolling a Charr.
 
I'm on the same page as you Ursen. Those big kittens aren't my thing.

Then again, I'm still mad about the Searing. So a little bias here. :)
 
Human Necro first...

Norn Warrior sounds like fun; I'm leaning toward a Charr Ranger; I will have a thief of some sort, but not sure what race yet. I'm waiting to see what sort of non-caster profession is left to decide what kind of asuran to make. Sylvari will be a caster of some sort, I think...
 
Can't decide if I want to go all normal/expected combinations (norn warrior, asuran ele, etc), complete opposite (norn ele, asura guardian), or a combination of both.

Considering just making all Asuran, but will probably mix.
 
Race is going to be whatever I feel at the time, Class is going to be Ele. Because Mages/Wizards are what I always roll first. :D
 
yea, without knowing what "perks" each race has, it's hard to tell what will synergize well. I'm really excited about the Sylvari and the Guardian. But if those won't mesh too well, I'll probably roll a human guardian as my main, and make a Sylvari ranger. Actually.. I'll probably just roll a Sylvari Ranger anyways, as that makes the most sense, but in the end I'm not one to follow the rules, I have no problem with an Asura Warrior or a Charr Mesmer ;)
