Field Trip!

We're just a bunch of sinners saved by grace, DV. I will only speak for myself...if you see an ounce of good in me, please attribute it to Christ. I am learning about unbelievers...or rather unaccepters, from you. For thier are some who believe there is a God, who have not accepted Him. I do hope you will always remember, we are all individual and sometimes, so are our ideas, we are learning and growing in Christ. In addition, DV, not everyone that says they are a Christian know Jesus as their Saviour. If I want to know if someone has accepted Jesus, I just ask anymore, "Christian" seems to carry a new meaning for some today. God sends us out to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves and I can only pray that you will be a wise "fruit picker," if you will, and not simply go on someone's word. Again, we are only saved sinners doing our best to live for Jesus, we make mistakes...we don't need anyone giving us a bad reputation that is not a Christian! I do not see how anyone with a good conscience can take God out of Creation, at least, those who call themselves Christian. hmm, maybe they should call themselves tian and take Christ out of their title, too!

Then let me ask you, since I am not a follower of Christ, do you see an ounce of good in me? If so, who do you attribute that good to?

Just another one of my problems with Christianity. Does that really matter Marcy? They are following Christ to the best of their ability, to the best of their knowledge. If you attack them or look down on them for their misunderstanding, how do you know that YOU aren't the one that's misunderstood. You are both using the same book and both claim to have the Holy Spirit guiding you on the correct path. So if one is wrong, WHY are they wrong?

I believe the laws of God hold true for the just, and the unjust.  The Bible says that it rains on both, therefore, when we do that which is right, we are following God's teaching.  This goes back to the account of Cain and Abel.  God told Cain,

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door.  And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.  Genesis 4:7

The whole problem here was that Cain wanted to be good and moral, but he did not want to accept that blood was needed as a sacrifice for his sins.  When it comes right down to it, that is all that is important, it is the point of the entire Bible!  Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation, there is no other way for men to be saved.

God is teaching me as I go DV, and it is a daily thing as I seek Him.  I don't look down on anyone, more, I would like to strive for everyone to come to the realization that our goodness is as filthy rags and none are righteous.  We are all in need of Jesus.  Many are not aware how to have fellowship and relationship with Him.  I recently spoke with a man that said he is a Christian.  When I asked him how he knew, he responded that he was born a Christian.  I don't have the answer to how someone can be in church their whole lives and miss that Jesus is our Redeemer, but I know that it happens.  The only reason I know is the same and only method that any may come to understand the truth, by reading God's Word.  Jesus asked, "Who do you say that I am?"  Many are aware of Him, and His story expands the religious world and many denominations, but not all know Him as the One True God, the One and Only way to salvation.  Our goodness will do nothing for us in light of eternity.

When we compare ourselves to Jesus Christ and the Word of God, we can see why they are wrong.  Let's take your favorite preacher, Benny.  I know God performs miracles and He heals even today.  However, He likes things done decently and in order.  I don't see that with Benny.  My biggest problem is the few times I have watched him I never heard a word about Jesus' saving power...that is the healing that is needed in the church.  I recently read a portion of one of Benny's shows.  He was chanting that he was a god man and he wanted everyone to do the same.  I don't see this as Scriptural.  As a matter of fact, I believe it is quiet contrary to the Bible!  How about someone that believes that they go to their minister for salvation or prayer?  The Bible says,

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;  I Timothy 2:5

once again, teaching contrary to the Bible.  Another example is the ID people, to take our Maker, our Creator, God Himself out, is not Biblical.  The way to know who is right and who is wrong is to simply open the Book!  Sadly, few do and this is the very reason in and of itself that many massive multitudes will be lead astray by the antichrist.  They do not know the truth of the Bible.  Let me go all out on a limb while I am on my soapbox...they are being led astray by a man who just may be receiving monetary gain from the congragation...I don't think He wants them reading the Word to find out he is not in line with Scripture!  He is only telling them what they want to hear!

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;   II Timothy 4:3

There is just as much scientific support for creationism as evolution. Neither can be scientifically proven, yet both can be supported by science depending on who's research you trust or believe. Evolution is based as much on faith as creation is. There are so many holes in the theory of evolution that now many university professors and scientists are scrambling and theories of aliens planting life on the earth are abounding...lol.

Edit: Wow I only read the first page before writing this...didn't realize there were two more. We've come along way off topic :) That museum sounds cool. Maybe I'll take my kids there sometime.

Creationism and Intelligent Design, while interesting, are not founded on scientific principles, which is why they shouldn't be taught as part of the science curriculum.

Okay Dark, I don't know if someone else said this but... Theory of evolution. A theory is;

Theory- a hypothesis assumed for the sake of argument or investigation; an unproved assumption

(as stated by our good friends at Webster)
