I've been running into that problem, too. I'm running the following extensions:

• Sage
• FlashGot
• NoScript
• Adblock
• Fasterfox
• Tabbrowser Preferences
• Forecastfox
• SessionSaver
• Adblock Filterset.G Updater

Right now, Firefox is sitting at ~40MB with 8 tabs open.

Honestly the speed difference between the two seems so minimal to me that I think it's a moot point. I personally think the extra features and security of firefox make it superior...yet I still use IE simply out of habbit.

Oh, FYI -- I did some quick research and it looks like Opera is the fastest browser for Windows, and surprisingly, Firefox is not faster than IE except for scripting. Firefox is still recommended over IE for standards support and security features.

A lot of it has to do with the OS you are running though. Mozilla and Firefox are optimized for Linux while Opera is optimized for Windows. The browser speed results on a Linux system are going to be different than they will be for a Windows system.

Still, the speed differences seem to be so minimal that it's all moot anyway.

Ok, I did a test. How long would it take for FF to open, then load CGA? I have a stopwatch, so I timed it. I did the same with IE, and IE was faster. Ya can't beat stopwatches.

BTW I am doing that with other web sites and its still the same; IE is pwneriffically faster

I can't test either of them since neither browser works for me atm. My computer is kinda messed up.

IE has always been monstrously slow for me though.
