Father-in-law

My father-in-law (who i have never met because he could not afford to come across to the UK for our wedding) has been diagnosed with non Hodgkins Lymphoma which i guess is very serious.

My wife is quite upset about this and we are planning to visit him before we lose the chance to. Flights which cost money we just dont have right now.

So my prayer is two-fold. For my father in law and his health. Also for a means to get there and see him.

Yeah non-hodgkins is actually very serious and not many things can cure it and if they do well... more often than not, it comes back. Deffinitely be praying him.
 
Odd. I know two people that had non-Hodgkins and both are cancer free more than 5 years after completing their treatments.

Anyway, praying for ya.

will pray, sounds like your in a tight situation. doctors can sya what they want, all diseases have a cure by the name of god:D

Update:

Well the update is that there is no update.. He was supposed to go into hospital last week but apparently hasnt gone in yet. My brother-in-law is keeping us posted about the details but apparently he's the kind of person who just doesnt care about is health and is trying to just dodge the issue.. maybe due to fear, i dont know.

We can only hope he comes to his senses and gets on with the treatment. Although i understand he has a lot of history of self-abuse via alcohol and other things so i think his chances are slim. All the more reason to hit the knees.
 
Update #2:

We have bit the bullet and booked flights. So we will be in the USA in two weeks time. Please pray for a safe journey, a positive trip and all the other usual stuff.... aswell as some provision for the debt we just added to our already large pile...lol

I would arrange to meet up with some old CGA friends if they are in the area but its not really appropriate, so will have to wait for another time.
 
We leave for the USA tomorrow, please pray that all the public transport is on time and that we get there safely...
 
Update : Sunday 15th June.

Have arrived in California after 24 hours of straight travelling. The journey was misery but everything went (almost) according to plan. We got there so thanks to God for that.

We have met up with my father in law. His health is poor but he is in good spirits. We are currently in the process of catching up with him and convincing him to get in the hospital to start his treatment. Your continued prayer is always a help. Hopefully some good things will come form this week.
 
Update: Saturday 21st June.

Another 24 hours of travelling makes me go a bit strange..lol. But all is good. We went there and did everything we needed to. My wifes family have now met me and she has had the opportunity to make peace with her dad.

Also i had a good time experiencing USA culture for the little time i was there. I love all you can eat sushi :)

Thankyou all for your prayers and support, the journeys were a misery but went without any major hitches and the week as a whole was definitely covered by God. I ask you all keep praying for my father in law's health as he is checking himself into hospital shortly (we sorted out a few things with his house/renting that were holding him up).

Now, i sleep.
