Facebook Shens

I'm gonna have to see proof that they're going to do this as it looks like a hoax/scare. There is no legitimate reason why FB would need/desire to do such a thing so I'm going to demand the word straight from an official announcement.
 
They have been pushing their "Promote this post" thing a lot lately, and we are talking about facebook here. Doesn't surprise me in the least.

What about people who already like my page?

Nothing has actually changed for people who already like your page or how posts from your page are shared with them.

All promoted posts will appear in the news feeds of the people who already like your page and if they interact with your promoted post it will be also be seen by their friends.

With these posts, they will be labeled “sponsored” posts in the news feed, but instead of ads in the column on Facebook, your promoted post will actually be in the news feed and in mobile news feeds… BONUS.
 
This is valid, it's not one of the scares. Click on the promote link when you make a post and look for yourself.

What they are going to do, as I understand it, is they will only send updates to 5-16% of the people who like your page (this is not for personal pages or groups). It doesn't seem to matter what they have selected for the site. Why would they do this? They are now a publicly traded company which produces absolutely nothing. Ad revenue is down, and many companies have found that putting ads on Facebook have no effect on sales, while having a page for your company or product will generate followers and free advertising. So they have to find some kind of revenue stream to rely on.
