Tribe of Judah Minecraft Server Operator
I have a server set up to test some new features we may or may not include in the official server, depending on interest.
Extra Hard Mode is a bukkit plug-in that changes some of the rules of Minecraft.
You can read them all here: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/fun-hard-mode/
The most notable are charged creepers, the new mining physics, and a crazy Nether. Smooth stone is much harder now, too hard to mine with anything less than an iron pickaxe (which lasts only about 15ish blocks, I think). So no more mining long tunnels. Now you do a lot of cave exploring. You can mine with TNT now, which is twice as powerful (and makes 3 instead of 1). Also, cobblestone, dirt, sand, and gravel all fall down like sand and gravel did before. So when you chop out a piece of coal, the smooth stone around it turns to cobble (fractures) and will fall if there is nothing below it. Oh yeah, regular torches don't work below a certain point underground, like level 20 or less, so you have to use alternate lighting (not enough air flow for permanent flames). I have hardly been in the Nether yet. Dying also runs a higher chance of losing items.
If you want to try it out, post on here to be whitelisted on the test server I am running. If there is enough interest, we'll move it from my computer to the ToJ server (Edit: or if my DSL can't handle it). They can be separate Minecraft servers (different addresses) or if there is interest, it looks possible to set it up as an another world linked to the existing one.
A few of us have a settlement near x:0, z:300. Cooperation is very beneficial.
I am also trying out a new anti-griefing plug-in on the server too, where you can fairly easily claim land and it is well-protected from anything.
So, to get on the server:
1) Post in this thread to be whitelisted.
2) Add the server to Minecraft: shepherd.user32.com
3) Join our settlement (0,,300) or make your own somewhere (there's a little island hut free to use too).
4) Have fun!
