Some of you may remember at the beginning of the year, when I lost my job. Some of you may remember that shortly thereafter the whole team I was part of formed their own start up around the project we were all working on.

I say WAS and WERE because about a month ago it all came crashing down in flames and ruin.

Obviously things have been a little weird here - but I have a new job. I'm relocating to Amsterdam in Holland! This is obviously a big WOOT for me, but it means a huge change to my life. On the first of August I'm packing up what little of my former life fits in a holdall, a kitbag and a small leather satchel and I'm leaving the UK via a one way ticket.

To say I'm scared would not be an overstatement!

As part of my big move, I'm giving away a lot of the stuff that I used to think was important. Other bits and pieces like my swords and airsoft collection are going into storage at my parents. My computer is being given to my father - and I have NO way of knowing whether my home address will have an internet connection yet.

So for a period of at least a couple of months, starting from the end of this month, I have to bid you all a fond adieu. I will miss our chats. I will miss the wrangling, I'll miss Cheryl and Rizz and Ultima and SSquared and Timor and all the rest of you nutcases.

dude that sounds awesome with the job, but man sad to see you go you brought alot of insight and a level head that i could argue with from time to time with out anyone lossing their cool or using un need language.

Wow. I'll pray for a smooth transition for ya Eon. You're bringing your wife I hope? Which bag does she go in? Seriously you'll be missed. If you want a penpal let me know. I'll also help hold some swords. :P

Hope to see you soon and wish you the best. You'll be missed and as our church says "You are loved"

I post this for the first time in a long while (college can make you busy) to say this - Cya later Eon! Hopefully we'll catcha around here again soon!

Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts. Cheryl - unfortunately Mrs. Eon isn't coming with me, due to her professed desire to cease being Mrs. Eon.

We've been seperated by co-habiting for quite awhile - one of the things that has prompted my desire for a change of scenery, language and attitude to personal space! ;)

<grins> Don't worry about it Cheryl - let's just say that after the last year I'm VERY much the tested blade... And I didn't break - quite.

Ohhhhh.....

You will be sorely missed. Just know you have made me think and learn things I would have never known. You made me research and dig deeper into the bible...into history...and into my own thoughts. And have also taught me a great deal about games. Your insight and challenges will be missed.

But great to hear about the new job. Boy! This almost deserves for me to upload a picture of me standing outside Schipol Airport. Unfortunately, my scanner is busted.

There's gotta be a way for a computer to be in your life. None in Amsterdam?

(I can't believe it. All day and no one has made mention of Eon's previous job.)

Doh! I didn't even notice it the first time I read Eon's post. I had to go back and reread it after you said that.

You will be missed Eon. I never got in a tussle with you as others here have, but I always read your posts ;)

God bless,
BlazeQ

I will be praying for a safe move and easy transision for you Eon. We'll miss ya. will also be praying for a swift return.

<grins> Schipol is the coolest Airport I've been to - I'm used to Fighter bases and local strips, but Schipol is enormous!

Yeah, I've dropped my secret identity! Since the projects and teams I've worked with are now a null factor, it doesn't seem to hurt. Of course you don't know who or what I'm working with/on in my next job, and I'll be keeping that just as secret WHEN I come back.

Because I WILL be back! I just need to settle in, find a new place to live, get through my trial period, buy a new pute and all manner of other stuff!

Mr Eon, Although you might disagree with some
of the stuff I wrote in the past on CCGR and CGA,
I'll miss you. I hope thing's go well for you in the
future.

Schipol is pretty huge. If I remember correctly, it's got a whole train station in there too! I was only in Amsterdam for a day. It was a transition point for me and a friend on our way between England and Germany. He had a good friend who lived outside Amsterdam, so we had a nice homecooked meal that night. Yum!

Well, that's it... My PC is going down shortly after I post this, to be packed into boxes before it's given to my Brother.

Game Over, Man. Game Over!!
