Elder scrolls Oblivion

I own it and have 'finished' it. I'm leader of all the guilds and have finished the main quest and most of the side quests. I've also downloaded all the official mods...although some of them are lacking in content. I still haven't found any really good mods that add any decent quests to the game yet.

Beat it, I beat all the main quests, and alot of the side quests. It's an incredible game, I wait for an expansion pack now :). Check out the big pile of scrolls in my room http://screenshot.xfire.com/screens...-594933060d496fa31a9c1631260c448f53dabbcb.png
It's grown to about twice that size by now, but that's the only screen I have uploaded of it. I also have lots of unique items in the game lying around that room, including most of the shields and shirts from the guards in all the towns :). I love Oblivion, it's a seriously awesome game that most people should be able to enjoy.

The only thing I don't like about it, is that it seems to be seirously lacking in the quest department. Morrowinds main quest took me a week to finish and the side quests took me another two or three weeks. I did most, if not all, of the quests in Oblivion in a day or two.

That's unbelievable, nigh impossible. Did you not sleep for 48 hours straight? Did you blaze through the game without even reading a single conversation? I have barely scratched the surface, only closed one gate out of 16 and have played almost 40 hours.

Yes, I played this game and only this game for a whole week. I will be honest and say that I didn't explore much, just finished the main quest, only because those darn Oblivion gates are so annoying. And because Oblivion drop kicks you into the main quest, while Morrowind just nudges you slightly.

Okay, well a week I can believe, but you said "a day or two" in your first post. :)

I feel completely opposite, though. I never felt rushed into the main quest and once I started joining guilds and completing side quests through exploring and such I actually forgot that there was a main quest to be done.

I rather liked Oblivion, amazing graphics, great story and voice acting interesting fantasy game. It was like Morrowind but it didn't take twenty hours of walking to complete a single quest, the quest system and quick travel make the game fun if you can't devote large chunks of time to the game.

The main story did feel a little short but I think that was mostly because the game moves a lot faster then Morrowind, getting you started right away. I imagine if Oblivion lacked the quick travel system the main quest would be longer then morrowind.

What I meant by a week was to do all that stuff, side quest and main quest. The main quest was rather short and only took me a day or two.

Great game, very easy to recommend. I have to agree somewhat with Phantom though, the quest chains did seem shorter. Also the guilds didn't make you work as hard. In Morrowind, you had to level your skills appropriate to the guild you were working on. Whereas in Oblivion, you can become the archmage or whatnot and have almost no magic skills at all. Also, there are fewer factions in Oblivion. Other minor issues include, having the towns as separate areas instead of being a part of the main world, and the fast travel system is nice, but it seems to shrink the world a bit too much IMO. Oblivion also has fewer, and more generic themes than Morrowind.

Most of that's just nitpicking though, you should definitly get it if you're at all interested in the genre.

I've got it as well. I loved it for the first 50ish hours, but then I grew kind of annoyed at it. I'm not really sure which aspect of it turned me off, but I decided enough was enough.

I'm sure I'll get back into it someday though...

I would recomend getting it. But get the regualr version not the collectors edition, it isn't worth it.
