Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion what content does it have?

In light of the recent Steam sale on Oblivion I am curious as to what moral or immoral content it has. Secular reviewers cover the game play and I know it's rated M but then so is TF2 (FYI secular morals are not Christian ones). I'd like more info as to what objectionable content it has language, sex, anti-Christian themes or whatever. To compare I'm avoiding Dragon Age as to put it simply any game that is joyfully described by a reviewer as "lesbian sex in the first 20 minutes if you play it right" is not something I am going to support.

Shows you what kind of magic is in the game.

What you'll be fighting.

From the occult/fantasy nature, (from what little I saw) you'll be venturing into Gates (portals?) and shutting them down to prevent demons/monsters from flooding the land... or something like that? One area early in the game had me in a castle fighting different kinds of demons. You can summon undead to help you fight, or take on Vampire attributes I believe after a quest.

I honestly can say that I hated this game with a passion. Not only was the combat wonky (you have to block to get better blocking, attack to get better at weapons, thus an old school grind), the character faces all look weird (even at max settings), but I personally didn't enjoy the demonic/fantasy areas (even though I've played more "darker" games before). I know a lot of people love the game, but this thing (and Fallout 3) just didn't click for me at all. I uninstalled after 4 or 5 hours. :/

I have been thinking about this one myself. I am having a WOW drawing, and I need some good solid RPGs to keep from going back. I don't want to pay the $15 a month...

Back on topic, I have heard it is a very decent game overall, and most of the content that is maybe a bit over the top isn't as much in the game as it seems. It is cheap now so I am thinking of picking it up next go around for my Xbox. Maybe next week after I get paid. :)

Fallout 3 is another one I am considering too since I am interested in the RPG/Shooter elements of the game, kinda like Mass effect.

Although it's now becoming an old game, back when I used to pirate music/games, I pirated Oblivion ><

Definitely worth $10. Granted, what I did in the game was often things that I would never be morally alright with in real life- such as any game :p. I remember doing a "mission" or "quest" where I had to murder 10 people in a locked mansion... while that could be considered 'horrible' to some, I thoroughly enjoyed it- just like I find no moral problem with blowing people to bits in TF2. Hope that helps? It was definitely an awesome game, and had I not pirated it 3 or 4 years ago, I would definitely have bought it now for $10. It won't keep you as long as WoW... that's for sure.

Oblivion is a fantastic game. The mods make it even better and are one of the main reasons people keep playing it.

+1 to the awesomeness of Oblivion. I pretty much got my 360 for it (since that was cheaper than a competent PC at the time... and I'm a console gamer at heart anyway). I played it to no end (literally... I never beat it... got carried away in exploration and random questing). Then sold it and picked up Game of the Year Edition. So good.

As for content, I see Tek done hit you with a run down. I honestly wasn't bothered by it (imo, the worst stuff lies within Oblivion's hellish domain).

I love Keero, but ignore him on this point. Oblivion (and Fallout 3) are fantastically made games. :P

<3 u Keero

What is the language specifically like? Are we talking illegitimate sons and condemning things to hell or f-words even time you get damage. I guess I'm saying does it stay in the category of words you'd expect medieval cussing to be or branch out into modern slang.

yeah it is that era's period of "cussing" much like Assasins Creed 2 (Although the modern day parts have cussing) has what would be considered cussing in Italy during the 1700's (I think is the period). So really it doesn't even come close...sorta.
