Could someone please give me the answer to this?

If you have 3 boxes of mislabled eggs, one blue, one red, and one box with red eggs and blue eggs. You are then blindfolded and can choose an egg from each box. Once the blindfold is removed you should be able to relabel the boxes. Could you please tell me how?

ok...u say they are "mislabeld"...so this is how it will work

Lets assume that they are mislabeled in this manner...

Box 1: red eggs
Box 2: blue eggs
Box 3: red/blue eggs

when u pull blind foldedly and lets say u pick a red egg from box 1 then it has red/blue eggs in it and you can label it correctly....therefore the second box is red and the last box is blue...something like this? i don't know lol

Assumption: All cartons are mislabelled. Meaning the Blue labelled carton is actually red or blue/red. The Red labelled carton is actually blue or blue/red. The blue/red labelled carton is actual blue or red.

You only have to pull one egg from the Blue/Red cartoon. Seeing as this carton is mislabeled, it will not have both blue and red eggs. The egg you pull will either be red (meaning all the eggs are red) or the egg will be blue (meaning all the eggs are blue).

If the egg you pull is red, that means this carton should be labelled Red. To figure out the other two carton, you must remember that all cartons are mislabeled. Which means the carton that is still labelled blue can not be blue nor can it be red (as we have determined which carton is red). That means this blue labeled carton can only be blue/red. And the remaining carton that was once mislabeled red, is actually blue.

The reverse is true if the egg you pull from the mislabeled blue/red carton is blue.
