I messed around with some stuff and enabled transparencies and some other junk in e17 last night.

it bumped up my load .1, rofl.

composite extensions ftw!

Gentoo Linux, No its straight up composite. I dont like xgl because it trashes non dedicated video cards (ie intel onboard)

the window manager is enlightenment 17 and the theme is darkness (e17 only). I really like e17, it has a very minimalist memory usage due to its design philosophy, and gets great performance because it uses opengl to generate almost everything. It also has some of the best window management tools I have seen to date, so keeping 30+ windows open is fairly easy.

Yes my transparency is hardware accelerated but if you know anything about the intel chipsets you will know that they offload all of their virtex and shaders onto the cpu, in essense intel made a "directx9 capable" cpu hog.
