from the Herald:

Status: North American servers are offline.

We're planning to take the servers offline on Monday morning for maintenance, focusing on the in-game mail system. US servers will be offline beginning at 6:45 AM EDT, and are expected to return by 11:00 AM EDT. Oceanic servers will be offline at 1:45 PM EDT and are expected to return by 4:30 PM EDT. We'll be keeping you updated throughout the morning, so as always keep an eye here for updates!

This morning's downtime will allow us to make the following update:

General Changes and Bug Fixes:

* We have made improvements to the overall speed of the in-game mail system. Players should now find that sending and receiving mail takes less time, and that the system is more responsive.

<3 Mythic.

actually, not enough sleep OR coffee. I'm getting tired, and so I have to be doing something or I'll fall asleep.

Besides, if you notice the times on the posts, they were all several minutes apart. It wasn't spam, it was updates ;)

I never did complain about the weekly maintenance schedule of Blizzard. Baring a few issues, everything always seems more responsive after maintenance. I'm suprised Mythic goes so long without some maintenance. I'm sure there are 10's of thousands or more ghosted entries in Mailbox and Auction house databases that just need to get cleaned out once in awhile.

Actually, they've been having small patches at least once a week, but they address small things that take them an hour to patch... today's was one of the longest (that I can think of, anyway) at just under 4 hours.

and I agree. Normally scheduled maintenance is fine. I just don't like what Blizz did - went from being 2 hours every Tuesday to 6 or 7 hours.... and sometimes come back broken.

Working mailboxes? Perhaps I should seriously start crafting and send my seeds and ingredients to one mailbox.

Zeb

that's my plan, Zeb.

Oh, and more notes from the Herald:
