DK Tank spec.

...but I'm finding threat gen and pulling aggro from healers a large problem. I'm sure it's a shortfall on my part as a new tank, but I'm wondering if other classes need to change their dynamics when a DK is tanking. When you have multiple spiders coming after the healer and DnD is on cooldown, it's hard to pull them off....

You just have to make sure that you have DnD go off right away on the pull as they're coming into range. The only way a healer can pull off you is if you start the pull with below 100% health, you aggro, a heal goes off, Healer grabs aggro. But when they run thru your DnD (which should be on top of, if not in front of you) this should be more than enough to pull them back to you. remember that if you are in the middle of a mob and another group pulls with DnD on CD...pestilence is your next best friend for grabbing some aggro on mult. mobs.

Remember experience is also your best friend. you can have all the knowledge, but until you actually see it happen and do it yourself...well...you get the idea ;)

pestalince wont do a whole lot coming up next patch.

"Pestilence – this spell no longer causes damage but just spreads diseases. Blood Boil is intended to be the general area attack, and has been changed to be castable on targets with no diseases on them, but does extra damage if diseases are present."

Thinking from a frost tank perspective, pestilence would be a fast aggro aoe builder after dnd to spread just frost feaver and then hit howling blast since the damage it does is increased if the target has frost feaver, so it's not completely useless :P It just wont do dmg by itself..which i never used it for that anyways...the damage it did was not that much.

indeed that is the trick.

aparently having the 51 point tallent also helps out with frost fever + howling blast, i wonder if it might up being worth an extra point in the longer run..

must try!

one of the better tank spec's i've used

18/48/5

with this spec this is my rotation:
icy touch or death grip to pull, pestilence to spread frost fever then pop death chill followed with howling blast which crits everything around me for 4k.

n if i want alil more CC i'll drop DnD before i use pestilence then hit blood tap to get the rune back to get howling blast off.

stole this spec from neliva.
