"You are not going to believe it, but it is true. I am seriously considering changing my race. This is, however, understandable: you must realize that I have not only moral responsibility to my fans, but a much more real, financial responsibility to my employer.

I do not just play Starcraft 2 for fun, it is my JOB. The image and the popularity of the team depend on my results, and so I must do whatever is necessary to make my team the best. Unfortunately, in the present balance situation regarding Zerg, I cannot achieve good results for my team. Blizzard's inaction only further fuels the fire.

Because of these reasons, unless there is at least an announcement of the new patch after GOM TV Global Starcraft II League and IEM Global Challenge Gamescom, I am going to switch from my precious Zerg to the more successful Terran.

I really want at least a small balance change, but so that your game does not have to depend solely on the mistakes of your opponent. I want fair play. Hopefully, I will not have to take such extreme measures.

Terran is really powerful, yeah, and Zerg needs a lot of work, but to say that Blizzard is inactive in addressing that is pretty near-sighted, I think. It's not like they can flip on a switch and make everything balanced, it's going to take a lot of work. He states it like it's obvious, but it's honestly not that obvious. Statistically, the races are pretty well rounded. Also, consider that Zerg was incredibly powerful just two months ago in Korea. I do agree that Zerg needs some more work, but it's not going to be easy, and it's not going to be quick.

Also, consider that TLO seems to do fine as Zerg. I think the current Zerg users, with the exception of MadFrog, don't understand how to play the race. They try to play conservatively like a Terran or Protoss, and that's just not how Zerg, in my opinion, should be played. Zerg, by nature, are very aggressive and are historically (and in design) very good at harassing - it comes as a result of their speed and mass expansion.

Hopefully, Dimaga can switch back to zerg soon. I would love to see more high-level Zerg players, and I always enjoyed watching Dimaga.

Thanks for sharing, Syrian!

yeah, I love watching madfrog and dimaga; they're both very creative players.

And i agreed with you, these problems wont be solved in a short amoutn of time.

the problem with this game right now i think is this:

zerg should have the best economy and the most inefficient units
terran should be inbetween
and protoss should have the worst economy but the most efficient units
right now its like terran has the best economy and the most efficient units and the easiest method of expanding. =\

Thanks for posting this, SyrianRue. I'm a zerg player, and I'm going to keep playing as zerg because I just really enjoy them (and losing games won't affect my job). However, it's encouraging to see that a player as good as Dimaga will still lose to Terran sometimes. Now, I won't get frustrated if I lose to Terran sometimes too (or at least try not to).

Blizzard recently post online what they think are the top 200 North American players. Not a lot of zerg...

I gotta agree to some extent. Terran feels a little bit over-tuned but not quite over-powered. I play Protoss and think Zerg is the weakest and Terran the strongest and Toss somewhere in the middle.

Because Terran can wall in it makes it difficult to determine what they are going after a certain point for the other races and at the same time Terran I think has the most viable builds meaning it is very difficult to reliably guess what they are doing and to counter it. The Terran also have very strong timing pushes. A marine/Marauder push at the right point nearly always beats a Protoss who can't tech to Colossus or HT fast enough. Out of maybe 45 1v1 games I've seen the same strat nearly every game leaving the majority of the Terran units untouched.

Use a proxy gateway build on Terran. It took me a Naruto a bit of time to learn the counter.

Edit- This news almost makes me want to play the zerg. I can't help but think that everyone thinks i'm winning just because my race is OP.

Proxy Gateway against terran? Do you mean put a proxy pylon in the base because in Platinum I never see that working everyone always scouts for it. If you mean hide my gateways somewhere near them by the time my first zealots are up they will be behind the wall whittling them down with marines. If I get through the depot they can be easily kited and then a single reaper to my base would end it.

You build inside of there wall. They should not even have one marine up by the time you get your gateway. The build is Pylon gateway gateway pylon. We have it in the replay section. Naruto beats it. But, it took us awhile to figure out how.

Dimaga just proved a huge point that zerg is way underpowered and TvZ is way too imbalanced. Even as a not so good terran player he could beat any zerg player. Imagine 3 base terran can handle 6-7 base zerg. Too bad though because of greed, blizzard just play deaf and not pay any attention to it. Perhaps if ppl stop playing starcraft 2 only then will they do something about it.

I would disagree with what you just said. I think that if there is an imbalance it is within the earlier parts of the game. I don't believe dimaga could beat any zerg while playing terran. There are quite a few exceptional zerg players that come to mind. Nestea and Fruitdealer are two that come to mind. Zerg may be underpowered. But not on the scale you seem to think. Watch Fruitdealer vs. Hopetorture(IntoTheRainbow) in the finals of the GSL 1. Or even Leenock vs. Clide Round of 64 in the GSL 3.
