Diablo II

So do you people think its a bad game to play given the circumstances.

I used to play it all the time.

And have been considering starting to play it all over again and being a different person while I play, someone who doesnt use a maphack, someone who doesnt cuss, someone whose nice and generous, and actually beats the game the right way.

What are your thoughts? Just curious.

I have the game...I haven't installed in for a long time. I did enjoy playing it when I did. I never used any hax, never swore etc etc...I beat it on normal and medium, but on hard I couldn't get a decent group together. And then I started playing Dungeon Siege and had a blast with that. On DS I had a bunch of cool addons \ haxs, like the one that doubled your inventory space, a starwars addon and a few others.

If people are against it, then fine, thats their reasonable opinion.

Heh, a different person... your not liking your other self?

someone who doesnt use a maphack

Heh, hackers have no skill what-so-ever.

someone who doesnt cuss

People cuss in D2? I havent seen that...

someone whose nice and generous

Those people are rare.

and actually beats the game the right way.

...then whats the wrong way, skipping levels?

Funny, I've done all those when I was playing Diablo 2, never cheated, never hacked(I dont know how to hack anyways), like to give away, and beaten each Act(Scenario) on every level.

I had 14 Paladins, each had every Set Item from Diablo 2(The Original game, not the Expansion) and I only picked Paladins throughout the whole game, ha.

If you want to make 'a whole new you' in a game, thats up to you.

If I had a chance to go back to playing D2, I won't, because I'm not a RPG fan.

The only reason I got into D2, cause no one was playing Starcraft, they were play D2, its annoying when people can never stop advancing to newer games.

I went D2, they went D2:LoD. I went D2:LoD, they went WoW and so on, so forth, etc. Then eventually, I didnt care, so I went on my own and played Starcraft.

They = Christians.

Well I read an article on www.diabloii.net about how someone started over after a 10 month break and did it that way. And it made a whole load of difference.

I was not a christian back when I played the game, and I was very selfish, rude, and tricky when I played. I used to trick items from people.
Nothing is wrong with rushing, except it defeats the purpose of building a character from the ground up, I would rather play the game fully, not truly worry about items and mf'ing, like I did back in the day(I got success from this, but in the end it was pointless.)

I would love that game if it weren't so satanic :( it's extremely addictive though. I started playing through the first chapter, and this is the only game to do this to me, but I was sort of seeing pentagrams in just about any star shaped object I looked at! Kinda freaked me out, anyway, I stopped playing it before I got to see another one of blizzard's amazing cutscenes (kind of a shame about not seeing all the cutscenes).

How is D2's point "satanic stuff"? You're setting out on a mission to destroy the evil god of that universe. Sure it emphasizes on the theme of evil and corruption, but the point of the game is to root it out, not join it. At least as far as I know.

Even if you're fighting against the forces of evil, it's still one of the darkest games ever created. You can hardly play for five minutes without seeing pentagrams all over the place! All I know is I felt really convicted when I was playing it, so I stopped.

One of the darkest games, so there are others.

Actually, you can play over five minutes before seeing pentagrams. (They are always in Castles/Kingdoms, not outside)

All I know is I felt really convicted when I was playing it, so I stopped.

Thats good for you. Killerah.

Slaying the Devil and his followers looks convincing enough to be "satanic stuff". 'Destroy the evil Gods from Hell'.

Aren't you only supposed to capitalize "god" when it is reffering to the One, true God?

Well, if the box shows a depiction of the devil on it with fire surrounding him, will Christians look at it and think "ohh, looks like a good game"? I personally do not think so.

Man Corpfox, sorry to halfway diss your game. I'll never do it again I promise! I already sort of explained what I meant by satanic stuff, I meant the game was dark, and full of satanic symbols.

but cant that also be perceived by anyone, such as counter-strike, people argue its about actual killing, diablo isnt about actual satanic worship in any way.

and im sure there arent any of those crawly thingys in Act2 of Wisconsin or something, sorry for my humor :D

In the game, Diablo 2, you face 3 Gods from Hell. (Two in D2, One in LoD)

In the reality, I know there is a God, period.

Man Corpfox, sorry to halfway diss your game.

Doesnt anyone read the whole thread?

By Corpfox(me): If I had a chance to go back to playing D2, I won't, because I'm not a RPG fan.

So, how can you diss 'my' game when I dont like it......
If you were dissing my game, Starcraft, then I'll argue.

I foresee this thread devolving into another argument on pentagrams.

Heh, you a fortune-teller, Maxx......

Man, chill! All I did in the first place was say how I felt about the game, and you throw everything I have to say to the ground! Anyway, you sure are defensive about a game you don't even like!

I'm giving actual facts and strict answers, unlike guesses and assumptions.

Its better to know the facts, than knowing what you think it is.

Anyway, you sure are defensive about a game you don't even like!

You have no idea how 'defensive' I am.

Hey thar, settle down, guys. The content of Diablo II has sparked quite a bit of debate in the years since its release. While Tribe of Judah never established a chapter for the game (and never will), ToJ members who play D2 have always been welcome to use our forums and chat room to find other D2 players and arrange to play together.

Most people in this community agree that different people have different convictions about different games. If you conclude that God would not want you playing a game, then, by all means, stop playing it; however, do not assume that your personal conviction applies to all people.

I agree completely, all I was doing was saying what my convictions about the game were, and why I don't play it. Anyway, I think I'm just about done with this topic.
