pff if i had written the story Jar Jar Binks would have been Ben's voice "Meesa think yousa should usea the force.."

"Only sith deal in absolutes" <--- Can Lucas make his New Age beliefs any more obvious? Anyway, the third bugged me because it was so blatantly New Age

Unless i know there is a strong meaning in which would be beneficial to me... when i am looking for mindless entertainment... i see a good movie. lol.

Lucas is a strong "New Ager"(I just made that term up :P ) and he is unafraid to show it in his movies. However, i still love the movies. I just like to anyalise what I watch.

If you look at the depiction of the Force throughout the Force, the way it's represented in the first three movies (Menace, Clones, Revenge) versus the original three movies (New Hope, Empire, Jedi) actually reinforces part of the Christian worldview.

The Old Republic Jedi hold themselves aloof; they work for justice, but claim to want "balance". They avoid personal attachment. So they get something to balance their justice: the evil of the Sith becauses stronger, and Anakin/Vader and Palpatine are unbelievably strong.

What defeats the evil? Love. Attachment. Good. Personal sacrifice.

Moral of the story: Love and personal feeling are far preferable. You want good, lots and lots of good, not some sort of "balance" between good and evil.

And the most amazing part? Lucas reinforces Christian theology without ever meaning to. In fact, he probably intended the opposite.

... now i "would" agree with you. and if you look at the movies under that perspective i think you may be right... YET... honestly, you can look at a ton of movies and find Christian meaning... God is pretty cool like that in how he can show us things about himself and his church by any source.

Exactly my point. I think it's pretty cool. Of course, that's because GOD is pretty cool. :)

What's very interesting is that, despite all efforts by Lucas to make Star Wars more blatantly New Age, it's the traditional, Luke Skywalker-type Jedi--good, pure, and full of human feeling--that's most popular; that's what has endeared Star Wars to sci fi-fantasy fans!

Not the midichlorians. :)

lol i think one time when i was bored i managed to put the whole trilogy into the book of Revelation. I dont remember most of how i did it, but i guess i could think of it again...

I HAVE 2ND MOST POSTS ON THE ENTIRE FORUM!!! couple hundred more and I surpass ATOWN!!!

if Laz didn't have a couple thousand more than me on CCGR (I think I have like 11-13k, he's got like 12-15k), I'd be post-o supreme-o on two different forums!! what would you guys do without me huh? :P

on a totaly separate note.. StarCraft II will be awsome!! I just got a magazine with that as its special thingy-ma-bob. Anyway its 3D with the Protoss haveing like 5-6 new units and the Terrain and Zerg only 1 each. I think it will be lots of fun. YAY STARCRAFT II!

The only thing stopping me from having StarCraft I (the first one I mean) is the swearing. It just seems unnecessary to me. Unless there isn't any--I think I read a review on CCGR that said that.

yeah, that annoys me when games put swearing in, it is a cheep way to try and convey emotions and of course is wrong.

i dont think the first StarCraft had any except for the cutsceans, Tho the online play is like rated R/X. Definatly something we all should stay away from.

In the starcraft 1 era, i played a game called KKND stood for Krush Kill 'N' Destroy..very violent...but no langauge i rmemeber
