Denizens of CGA, please impart on me your ebay advice

I'd like to sell a few things on ebay (no, this isn't some cheap thread title gimmick where I'll now list what I'm selling), and I was hoping for some advice on selling. Any advice would be cool. I'm pretty much a novice, and I only plan on selling through Pay Pal (...because I understand it's pretty secure). Any advice would be hugely appreciated, and feel free to take a virtual M&M Cookie.

~ Make sure you use descriptive titles
~ Don't use Reserves. Just set the starting bid at what you'd accept. I don't know about you, but I will never end up bidding on an auction that has a reserve. Also, just put "NR" in the title when there's no reserve.
~ Be careful with Buy it Now. Make sure the price you set is just slightly above what someone would pay for it on eBay. For example, the first item I sold was a game which had a buy it now price of about $8. That item sold within 10 minutes of it's listing. Why? Because it could've been about $6-9 more than that. =D So just make sure you do research before using Buy it Now.
~ Ensure you have quality pictures of your products. Try to keep pics tight and focused.
~ Ship quickly. You'll receive higher marks on your feedback rating when buyers are pleased with your shipping times. I try to ship within a business day where possible.
~ Have fun! =)

A word on paypal., from experience.

If you get any email from paypal or a paypal spoof (not really email from paypal) be sure to not use any links from the paypal email.

Log into paypal straight out and not through links.www paypal com
If any important information that you need to address will be in your real paypal account.

Spoof emails have links to a paypal lookalike website. They will and can address you by your real name. I got one and clicked on the link even after reading that day about spoof emails and how you can tell them from paypal.
So I used the link inside the email and it said I had 2 attacks from overseas and if I wanted to know more then log into your paypal account. I did and that really messed up my account. My Mrs. saved the day. She saw or read somewhere about spoof emails and gave me a hard time about using a paypal email. I had to use my user name and password so they got it easily.
After that I had entered my visa information because it sent another email the next day to do that.
I sent the emails to spoof at paypal dot com and they replied back that the emails were not from paypal. So I had to change my paypal password and get my visa account closed out. So be careful everybody using paypal.
No money lost.

Why no reserve Sir Thom? I've read that you set no starting bid limit.
No, I definitely set a starting bid. The starting bid is always the minimum I would accept for the item. That way, (a) you don't have to pay to have a reserve, and (b) you won't turn away users.

Also, be careful how you list the payment. Just because you say you take paypal, doesn't mean you can accept credit card payments. That is a premium PayPal service.

I won an auction once, and the payment details said Paypal and included the credit card icons. I paid with a card but the payment was returned a day or two later because he didn't have the credit card service. Fortunately, he was a patient guy and I kept emailing him with updates and he would respond, so we were able to work it out with a bank transfer through PayPal.

In short, unless you know you have a way to accept the credit card, be sure to put in "Money transfer through PayPal only, No Credit/Debit card payments" in the payment options becaust the default paypal icon may include the credit card icons.
