DC Universe Online

The limitations had more to do with my chosen powers. More often than not I get pestered by fliers who simply fly away when they start to lose (pvp general - not arena). Being a speeder myself, I can't touch them when they are a certain height up. . .

As for going to Australia (8 vs 8), I've never waited more than 1-2 minutes and usually have to wait less than 10 seconds. I've also noticed that each match played the villains have dominated. I'd love to take credit for that but perhaps with the general population of heroes being greater you also have a greater population of unskilled masses. . .

Of course, I still have to deal with the random level 30 camping out objectives for my missions. I think I was knocked out 5-6 times before I finished my last task. All that running back to the location eats up a huge chunk of my time. I'm considering switching to PVE for leveling, but it is so satisfying to clobber a fellow several levels above you because they either have no idea what they are doing or because I have 2 other villains who randomly showed up fighting alongside me. :D

That all reminds me of probably the best moment I had in the DC beta. Ok here is the setup. Over by the university there is that Egyptian boss that spawns. In the beta you could get him hung on the overpass if you did it right at which point he became helpless. Also right in that area is an NPC quest which let you turn into a Zombie for it's duration giving you different powers. One of those powers was an extremely overpowered 1-2 shot ranged kill against other players. So I am over there killing the boss a few times to see what loot he'd drop when a villain starts camping the area and killing me using zombie mode. We both knew the exact boundary of where the zombie effect wore off so he'd stay in it. Soooo I switch to healer mode (which I do better PVP with) and feign like I am trying to farm the boss again, which I can't actually do because healer mode won't dps enough to kill him. Sure enough he comes over again and I make like I am going to run but instead I turn around and use vine lash to pull him past the zombie mode boundary. It was funny because you could see his character panic for a second turning to get back in the boundary but it was to late. I was on him and although it was a close (I think I was two levels higher), long battle my healer mode let me wear down his flame build and win. We had a couple more battles, I lost one, then won, then I think he gave up. That vine lash moment was priceless though.

Vine lash was sometimes, but not always, useful to pull flyers out of the air. Most of the time I just used it to pull single enemies or for the poison effect. Patriot you may want to look into the generic version useable by any class (forget the name, grappling hook?) but I didn't test it much to see if it was good (though all my info is outdated anyway). :D.

Oh since you mention super speed I do remember one other entertaining fight. It had a large gorilla boss, Prince Ulgo, in a room with 4 pillars towards the center. He was supposed to be contained there in the story. Anyway I was in a group with no other healers and no tank. Well as expected with bosses they do not like healers XD. I super speeded around those pillars while he chased me and my group range attacked him. Every now and then he'd stop to attack my group once they did enough dps but 90% of the time he was on me. I'd heal my group when they did aggro him away but that would also draw him right back on me. The entire fight was like that but we won. Guess you could say I ran circles around him in a fight, literary :p .

Random thought: I had my own made up mini-game/combo (because most the default brawler attacks were useless) of seeing how long I could continually juggle non-player enemies as they are helpless in the air. Basically using the long brawler combo and then thorn shield (to bridge the end of the combo and then repeat it) you could keep them helpless until dead. Of course you couldn't juggle some enemies and keeping more than one in the air was hard.

I have actually started playing this myself on the PS3. My computer lags like nobodies business if I try to play the game. If you guys happen to see me, and use bluetooth, let me know. I've got no friends on there and I can't do any typing because I have to use the virtual keyboard to do it, which doesn't work well while fighting. My char's name is the same one I am using here. ^_^
