Dawn of War

I'm pleased to report that I recently received the Dawn of War Everything Pack as a gift from a forum user going by the handle "Mr. X." (It seems the gift-giver wished to remain anonymous and I can respect his wishes--though I have a fair guess as to the giver's identity.)

I've only played through the first level of the first campaign so far (skipping the tutorial since I previously played the demo), but I plan to play more often once I finish a RPG I'm currently playing through on the Playstation 2.

I don't plan to play any multiplayer matches until I finish at least one single-player campaign, but I'd like to know in advance:
  1. Who else in ToJ owns Dawn of War
  2. Which expansions they own
  3. How often they play, and
  4. When they play.
I know Sarugon plays; who else does?

I play!
However I will only play DC and SS multiplayer due to balance issues and I prefer SS for thanks to the update that finally happened recently...

I tend to play whenever I can find friends to play with (fairly often), and towards the evening (and will always be evening once classes begin monday).

I wouldn't mind picking the pack up in the next month. I didn't have the, uhh, retail version of DC, but I did enjoy it tons. Stoked for the second one now. I heard SS was buggy, is that still true?

I have DoW, but only up to DC, I tried SS once and didn't really like it. I'm always up for a game, just let me know if you ever want to play.

Most if not all of the bugs are now gone thanks to a recent 100+MB patch that did nothing but bugfixing for SS. If you didn't have the patch, some of the races were nearly unplayable.

If you have a retail version of Soulstorm and a Steam account, you can now link the game to your account. Be forewarned however that it will download and install the game onto your computer leaving you with two copies of the game that will eat up a bunch of space.

It will only work on SS, you can't link DoW, WA, or DC.

I wish I had the money to simply buy the earlier ones on Steam and forget about the retail ones. It's so much easier this way when I reformat my machines...

I think I read somewhere that if you have SS and steam you can get into the dawn of War 2 multiplayer beta, not sure how though.

Do want!

If you find a link about the DoW2 beta, please post it here or in the DoW2 thread.

I created a new thread to discuss the Dawn of War 2 beta.

I might need to start playing Dawn of War earlier in the evening. Any time I'm logged into Steam in the evenings, I get invited to a Left 4 Dead Versus game. Being the social person I am, I almost always choose playing with others over playing alone (when given the choice). Maybe that's why it takes me so long to get through RPGs nowadays.

You could also message me on Steam (linky to my page) and we can play vs or comp stomp. I'm *usually* available weekends and evenings. I tend to set my messaging status as away when I can't/don't want to play.

I own everything but soulstorm, and though I've never really played it online, if some of you want to get some games together I'd be up for it. Not sure if I have it properly installed at the moment though.
