Creating the ultimate 48-49 PvP Hunter

its going to be up to you or you could even run SM cath and get the gaunelts of divinity.

it comes down to what you value more AP/Stam or Crit/Stam

also if you go 30 into survival you can get 15% more agil

At lvl 49 you only have 40 talent points, it takes 11 points to get aimed shot which is probably the primary source of dmg by a hunter. With 30 in survival you give up aimed shot for 3% more agi, not really worth it. On that note, I have yet to meet a hunter that does not have aimed shot and does good dmg

the issue is aim shot takes 3seconds to cast sure i love when i can get it off but especially in 30-39 and 40-49 you are getting attacked alot and some of your best options are to aspect of cheeta+vipersting and kite ppl around all day.

oh and as for amulets there is a +20 attack power one that you can pick up from a quest in theramore island that has you killing rock elementals outside of purple side maradon.

also your question about the dragon scale BP, its kinda up to you, you will sacrifice about 10-15 agil probably and maybe 2-3 stam but you gain +13/fire/frost/shadow (GG mages/warlocks) and a 600 dmg magic shield. which could be nice it is going to come down to how you want to play your hunter.

the 13 resist isnt going to make or break you that much especially since alot of the ppl doing WSG have the -10/20 resist trinkets. (i stack them on my warlock). but that does add up when you get some resist gear/enchants like that spread around your gear sets. so if you had that BP/ the +5 that is 18 to those and dwarf has a nature +10 frost so you would have 28 frost. sure doesnt seem like a huge thing but it can up your chances to resist by a considerable amount.

also you asked about a build. if i was doing 40-49 this is what my hunter would have

you get all the important things from marksmen, and the survivability that mean 60's look for from survival.

only thing you may want to change is the survivalist into entrapment and maybe take 2 out of humanoid slaying (yes it works in PVP according to the hunter forums) and put it into trap efficency.

having a freezing (aoe slowing) entrap like 3-4 ppl that are chasing you in WSG is priceless.

but again comes down to play style and how much you honestly are spamming traps.

I'm not a big fan of kiting in bg's, just not enough room or too many horde to do it. I just let other peole go, and take big aimed shots.

Your build is pretty good, it's definately a lot better than the ones I suggested. I did some pvp on the test servers and it seems that entrapment/freezing trap is going to be nerfed, cause the frost traps didn't seem to proc more than once.

Ultimate Hunter Thread

Go 0/20/31 in your build, going as far as Scattershot in Marks and the rest in Survival. Best build for PVP and a solid build for PVE.

UPDATE: Purchased Crusader's Belt of the Monkey and Crusader's Boots of the Monkey.

I have in Spenser's bank:
I also have a bid in on Merciless Gauntlets of the Monkey for 3g.

That leaves the following to purchase:
I'm considering buying Arctic Ring of the Monkey, though I already have Falcon's Hook and Marsh Ring of the Monkey. Are the few extra points in Stamina and Agility worth 10-15g?

So, in short, once I hit 48, I'll be ready for the Battlegrounds! w00t!

I've decided to pick up one of the following and attach Mithril Spurs so I'll have a pair of riding boots:
I've made sure that the boots have at least +11 Stamina so I don't lose more than 70 hit points (due to switching out from boots with +11 Stamina bonus and a +7 Stamina enchant) when I switch to my riding gear. I also looked for boots with a +Spirit bonus so I can regen mana more quickly while I ride.

If you find these boots on the AH for less than 5g, please send an in-game mail or tell to Spenser.
