ok im almost ready to unviel my remodeled computer system but before i do im having some issues with cooling. i cant seem to get it to stay under 90C. i set my cpu to 100fsb so it hit 85C by the time i got this info: it looks like cpu vcoure: 1.54, +2.5V: 2.65, voltage battery 3.15 . i guess this seems normal i think.
i recently purchased http://shop1.outpost.com/product/4083602?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG to switch my compaq amd 2600+ cpu and other parts to, along with a new case. but now when i turn it on my temperture rises to 90C and above O_O, im reading that in the bios. and im scared im currently running off a laptop but yeah... i tried reapplying the thermal grease but that didt work.
im useing this thermal grease http://www.radioshack.com/product.a...t_id=276-1372

ideas?

Also make sure you have some air flow through your computer, like a fan in the front sucking air in and a fan in the back sucking air out.

You need three things for cooling:
  1. Airflow
  2. Airflow
  3. Airflow
And when the above three isn't enough, think about liquid cooling. But generally speaking, if you aren't o/c'ing, the three listed above is adequate.

I have added to my computer two fans bringing in air, two exhausting it. Thats on top of the powersupply which has two fans and my cpu fan.

hehe, the hting is its the same cpu, and i currently set it for 1600MHZ so it wouldt get as hot and it sits at 80C for a while and then rises, i try not to let it get past 90C when im watching it. and its the same hs on the same cpu.

lol, 90F is hot, but you're saying 90 C not F? Your CPU's gonna boil! Literally! *You might wanna boil that egg using your computer.... remember that? :p

Just to give me American friends a typical translation for degrees C:

0'C = Water freezes\melts (32'F)
20'C = Room Temperature (72'F)
30'C = Hot day (90'F)
100'C = Waterboils (212'F)

And he is running 90'C, he's running very, very, very hot. Cool that baby down!!!

i know how to transfer C to F and back again so no worrys there. and so far i figuried out i mounted my hs backwards (i really cant tell back words or forwards on this thing) but now i cant tell what the crap my heat is http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v372/Atown/mytemps.jpg

but now i run into a new proplem. i cant boot in 133FSB, im stuck in 100FSB. also i noticed that my monitors have been spiking the temp up to 82C and higher....

Actually, I posted that for Tek, who still thinks the currency conversion is 1 USD = 1,000,000 CDN. LOL
Bwah? It's not? Hm. Guess I'll have to keep up on the exchange rate from now on. *g*

The links in youre very first post are dead, if its the soyo i recommended to you then i may know the fsb prob. My comp's CPU's temp is at approx 52C right now /flex. But i also have all my fan slots filled... all 7 of them. :D
