Counter-Strike: Source

Hey everyone, I'm Frostbyte from the Sons of David christian clan. It was a great surprise today to find this large Christian gaming community; I'll be telling my WoW friends about this as soon as I'm back at school.

Anyways, I thought I'd drop a line and make a connection. My clan runs a Counter-Strike: Source pub and has an active community. If you want to check it out, our website is www.sonsofdavid.net.

We'll definitely be over here for other games!

God bless!

That being said, welcome to the community and thanks for the heads up on your clan's CS: S server!

You should also look at <CC><.

I have been playing on their servers for a long time and they are pretty much packed with people during the day.

I have played at <CC><, but they run 66tic servers since they need to support such a large community. We run a single 100tic 500fps pub since we don't have a massive community, yet we do have some competitive players who enjoy a top-of-the-line server.

Our server also has a much older administrative staff (all admins are 18 and older, with an exception of the leader's kids). It's a bit more competitive than <CC><, though still all about clean fun, and has more lenient rules (you are allowed to say "noob" and "owned").

I haven't checked out the other clan, but I will tonight when I'm home from school!

Its not that <CC>< has a large community to support, its the fact that any server larger than 18 slots cannot run 100 tick effectively. Its a source engine limitation. I run the servers at <CC>< and even on top of the line quad core processors any slot count past 18 will not hold a steady 100 tick even though its only using 30% of 1 CPU Core.

There are definite benefits to having admins 18 and over to watch over the servers. <CC>< is so big we do have quite a few under 18 admins, not that its a bad thing, sometimes we've gotta revoke admin rights. We've also equally removed grown men's admin rights for the same types of reasons. All the administrative staff that run and make decisions for the clan are over 18.

Might not be a bad idea to post over there either. :)

I am actually an admin at <CC><, someone slapped me with admin rights and I started getting (Admin-Only) chat. Hmm, that reminds me, I probably need to update my email on their site :\

For the most part some people simply can't be admin as they will abuse their powers. I know a few people in RL who are more mature then some adults. Then there are some adults who are simply immature. I would rather see it handled on a per case basis then tying your hands behind your back then causing big issues when a supposed "policy" is broken. Either way you filter out the bad and promote the good, as in most things in life.
