Im looking at getting one of these and right now I'm leaning toward source, but I wanted to hear what you guys thought. So please vote in the pole and post what you thought.

Due to its popularity, CS: Source.

But not everyone likes it.

It is much easier to kill someone when "spraying".
Grenades do more damage, a shotgun can do 1-hit kills, a shot in the chest may count as a headshot, etc. =|

However, their mods are very good, like Zombie mod.
Also, you can't shoot through every wall unlike CS 1.6.

I particularly like it when a shotgun can do 1-hit kills, as I use it most of the time, unlike Rifle addicts. ;)

I'm proficient with the P-90, Shotgun (M3) and P228 (.357).

A few times, I can kill someone from long range with a Shotgun!
(1 of the pellets gets a headshot)

if you are just getting into the game, then most will go toward source. 1.6 is more for the old guys like myself that still reminisce about the past and like the feel of 1.6 better. No fancy graphics, and all about the strats.

I stand along side Whon hehehe or should I say with the older guys ahahaha I play both and I like both but I like the Older version because it loads fast and my cpu runs quieter. Dunno why but when I load source my cooling fan gets a work out and with 1.6 I barely hear it? Both are fun and servers are still plentiful from coast to coast. The true grit clan runs a Christian friendly server for source and f.o.g.g clan is Christian for 1.6. and as for me I float here and there looking for people to shoot me heheheh silly concept me knows. Add me as a friend if you would like.

I started with Source, but have played 1.6 many times. Personally I much prefer source. I think the weapon balance in Source is better. As stated earlier the shotgun can get one hit kills from close range which I like and it is also moderately effective at mid range which I think is more realistic. Overall I like the feel of Source better.

Where's the third option: Neither? :p

I kid, I kid (although it's widely known I'm not especially fond of Random-St--err, Counter-Strike).

In terms of gameplay, I prefer CS: Source.

But I admit I have a fondness for CS 1.6 Christmas maps, especially when December rolls in.
