I don't know how the demo is set up, but there is an option under graphics to run a settings test that's basically an graphical cut scene with the in-game engine. It takes a while, but worth changing your settings to make sure it runs smoothly.

I bought this game yesterday. Had a chance to play a few missions lastnight and I am very impressed. The cut scenes and graphics are amazing. There is a lot of foul language from the units, so do be warned. I am sure there is a way to cut that off though.
 
Do I need to upgrade my graphics card to play with a smooth framerate and high graphics? Games this pretty aren't made to be played on "Low" or "Medium" settings.

I currently run a Nvidia GeForce 6600 256MB and have a 2.8GHz processor with 1 GB RAM.

You should be able to play the game on the lower settings.

Even with everything lowered, the game was still impressive.

The things you won't see will be high terrain detail, water reflections and shadows.

Try the demo, that should give you a good idea of what it will look like.
 
Imagine if someone makes a Starcraft mod! That would be great! :)

But then again, Starcraft 2 should be coming out in the next year.
