Command and Conqour 3!!

This game is so much fun, only problems i have been having is with trying to get into an online match. Which has bummed me out because I cant play with you all. When I have been able to get online the matches are short b/c people rush. My xfire name is slalomdms and same for my comrade name.

I'm curious now, I've played the demo, both sides, somewhat similar to Red Alert 2.

Like the Nod soldiers have twice more and slightly cheaper than the GDI soldiers. However, the GDI soldiers can make bunkers which is similar with GI soldiers in RA2, allows them to quote: "deploy into a heavy machine gun platform which offers increased range and power but no ability to move."

I'm very surprised any GDI soldier can go into the bunker: Grenadier, Sniper, Missle Squad, Commando. Especially surprised with the Rig, a vehicle that can deploy a platform with defensive turrets, WOW!

I'm worried about a few things,

1. Will the manual repairing be fixed?

In all the C&C games, when you repair something and its done, it will automatically stop repairing the building. In C&C:3, you have to manually disable repairing the building. I hope that is just in the demo version.

2. Is there more soundtracks in-game?

The demo should only have a few and full version should have many.

3. Are the GDI's weak on stealth detections?

I noticed having a scanner does not reveal stealth troopers and only a few of higher and more expensive units have limited stealth detections.

4. What is the point of health upgrades when all the units have no health indicators?

The only way to tell is through a firefight with other units, the problem is most counter-units kill them with 1 hit. GDI's Zone-Troopers die easily versus Nod's Shadow Team, and Zone-Troopers are Heavy Infantry!

Pretty much everything you describe is fixed. Everything has Health bars and when it is done fixing it stops. Sounds Tracks dunno and the Zone Troopers die a little faster than Shadow team but they also do like 3 times the damage that the Shadow team does but they are pretty close.

Okay, Thanks, one2dredd.

GDI's Rail-guns vs Nod's Lasers, heh.

I hav'nt played the demo, but i'm a huge fan of the C&C series. I'll be picking up my copy tomarrow.

BTW, what are the system requirements?

==================================================================
System Requirements
==================================================================

Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars requires DirectX 9.0c. You can
install DirectX 9.0c by following the onscreen prompts during the
demo installation process.

REQUIRED SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS:

· OS: Windows XP, Windows Vista (32-bit; 64-bit versions of
Vista are not supported)
· CPU: 2.0 GHz or higher
· RAM: 512 MB or more
· Hard Drive: 1.4 GB or more of free space
· Video: DirectX 9.0c compatible video card. Video card with 64
MB or more memory and one of these chipsets is required: ATI
8500 or greater, NVIDIA GeForce4 or greater. (ATI Radeon 9200
and 9250 PCI, NVIDIA Geforce 4 MX cards not supported.)
· Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

NOTE: While you will be able to play Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium
Wars with the specifications above, play experience may improve if
you have additional RAM, above the required 512 MB.

The demo size of download is 1.17GB. So, if you got Cable or DSL, should be about 30 mins to download.

Also, there is a neat trick too, when you play Skirmish, you would only be allowed to pick GDI.
Press 'N' on the Army selection screen and you would be able to play as Nod. :D
It does allow you to pick Scrin by pressing 'S', but when you play, you have no buildings, as a result, you lose.

I should of brought the game when it was on sale last week, oh well.

I downloaded the C&C3 demo last week, installed it on my notebook last Thursday night, and tried to load the demo while out of town this weekend. It threw an error saying I didn't have a DirectX 9 .DLL file installed, so I'll need to re-install the demo before playing. (I have DirectX 9 installed on the notebook, so I'm not sure why it threw the error.)

Once I get the demo to work, I'll try to set aside 30 minutes to an hour to play it and post a mini-review in this thread.

Tek, I got that same error message when I tried the demo at first. All I had to do was go to MS's website and download the latest DirectX (I had to do this even though I also had DX 9).

Okay, I installed the latest version of DirectX 9 and the demo works now.

I probably won't have time to play it tonight, but I should have a chance to sink 30 minutes into it on Thursday night. (I'm scheduled to cover a city council meeting tomorrow night, then I have church Wednesday night.)

Invite sent! I am suprised only 2 weeks old no recruiting but we are 7 Strong :)! My xfire is one2dredd as well as my comrade and we will be using the official CGA TS server so if you want to do some on line look me up on xfire or comrade and we can meet in TS!

I wondered why do some units and buildings have green sensors (red sensors for nod), that must of been detectors, my bad. The Pitbulls and Attack Bikes says they have detectors.

I realized why Zone-Troopers die easily, it says they are effective only vs structures and vehicles, not infantry.

The websites about C&C3 really are missing some information.

I'm really enjoying the Skirmish in the demo, especially with GDI. Hearing and seeing bullets firing and ricocheting, tank shells firing and reloading, missles launching and reloading, buildings exploding and tumbling, trees knocked-down and crushed, waters splashed and waved. :p

One thing I found great about the game was the sound effects. Major explosions that take place off screen can still be heard as muffled thuds. It gives the feeling of great mass to whatever is exploding. Its not an overtly "new" thing, but its the little details that C&C3 does so well. Another amusing thing to watch is the animations of the GDI engineer. That guy is a clutz!

I am having so much fun with it! I am now a lvl 14 (Cool looking Silver Star) online and am ranked Just below 6000 out of almost 40000 people playing. Not too bad I lose a lot though lol my Record is 42-38. Am working on the NOD campain but having probs and am stuck :(.

I've been having multiplayer issues... sometime when i'm in Automatch it just freeze on me... i'll still have mouse control and hear music, i just can't Alt-Tab or CTRL-Alt-Delete. I am then forced to shut off my computer, and just cross my fingers next time... Does anyone else have this problem?

There are some issue out there I am not one of the few having probs but I know there seems to be quite a few and EA is working really hard to figure them out. They did not expect to have so many issues and are working on patches! So far there have been 4 Patches and I am sure there are more on the way.

Just brought the Kane Edition today, as well as Casino Royale DVD.

NOD always have the cool names, their engineer is a Saboteur that also can use explosives.

It is very cool when you put a bomb in the garrisons and the enemy goes in them, KABOOM, they fly out the windows.
