Time for the next step in our election process! We had 3 names who were nominated this time around. And at this point 1 of those nominees decided not to run. That leaves the 2 brave members who feel they can deal with my goggled glory, Mcfierce's awesome combat skills, and the depressing prospect of a Shagzless future for Redeemed. They have expressed interest, and willingness to run. Here are our candidates:

- Brootis (confirmed)
- Skrubs (waiting to hear back)

Here's the process from here on out:
1) Each of the candidates should post in this thread a not-too-lengthy statement about their qualifications, about why they'd like to be co-GL, and what they'd like to accomplish as co-GL. NO ONE ELSE SHOULD POST IN THIS THREAD, JUST THE TWO NAMES ABOVE. For the candidates, please do this by end of Wednesday, 8/24/11.
2) On Thursday 8/25/11, the election will begin, and there will be one week of voting, ending officially on Thursday 9/1/11 - I will add voting instructions once polls are ready to open.
3) The candidate with the highest vote total will be elected co-GL for a term running until September 1st 2012.

If you have any questions, please PM Mcfierce or myself!
Thanks,

Flame

In an earlier thread I asked why people come to play WoW, and many of the responses I got were because people were looking for an escape. For me, that is true, however it’s not the end of it. Many people come on here for the fellowship, which is also something I cherish. While the game has lost its feel of novelty, and newness I can’t seem to leave; and I honestly don’t want to, not because of the game, but because of the friends and fellows I have made in this guild. Redeemed is more than a guild to me, it’s become a second home, it’s a place I know I can log onto any time of the day, and greet any person in the guild as a fellow believer. It’s a place where many times I’ve come asking for prayers about the hardships of life, like many of my fellow guild mates have, and not only have people prayed for me, you folks have renewed my faith, you have brought me up, and made me feel as if everything is going to be alright, even during some very dark times in my life.

Because of this, I’d like to the opportunity to pay it back. But what is there to do, that isn’t already being done? The current leadership, including officers and raid leaders are doing a stellar job in making this guild what it is, we have gone further than we have ever done before in raids, and other PVE venues.

Before coming to Stonemaul, I created and lead a guild on the horde side called Shadow Syndicate; we had over 255 active accounts in the guild, with weekly activities, and rules very similar to Redeemed’s rules. While not claiming to be a solely Christian guild we were “family friendly”, and we were hardcore PVP. Once a week we took Sentinel Hill, or Darkshore, commandeered the boat in Wetlands and then rode our lvl 60 epic mounts through the gates of Storm Wind, Darnassus, or Iron Forge, and killed any and every flagged Ally we saw. This was before achievements, and before killing any of the leaders was good for mounts or other prizes. I’d love to do things like this with Redeemed, world PVP as well as Rated Battle Grounds are an awesome part of this game that we, as a guild, do not normally do. It’s a whole different game when you’re playing PVP as many people know.
Another thing I hope we can work on, while keeping our values as a guild of Christians, is recruiting more like minded players. Recently we’ve lost people due to burn out, new MMO’s, and other assorted reasons. I would love to see our guild bring in more players who would be interested in raiding with us, be it PVP or PVE.

As many of you know I love doing both guild and personal Achievements, I would love to get more guild achievements, and any activities that involve a large number of guild members would allow us to bond together and make our guild stronger as a whole. That is why raiding is so popular, and why I think doing many of the guild wide achievements would also be good for our guild as a whole.

In conclusion, I thank those of you who have nominated me, and those of you who took the time to vote in this election for either myself or Skrubs.

I waited to put this after Brootis' thread because I wanted everyone to read it - but another candidate has since declined nomination, and Brootis will be running unopposed!

We're looking forward to his promotion on Sept 1st.

Awesome!! Gratz Brootis! I am stoked for you to jump in as GL, and there couldn't be a better person for the job to take my spot. Redeemed will definintley be even better with the 3 of you guys in charge.
