China Bans Gold Farming

first, Chinese gold farmers haven't been an issue in WoW for a few years now. It's actually the American gold hackers that are the problem. I'd prefer to go back to the Chinese gold farmers.

secondly, gold hacking is illegal in the U.S., but look how much it has stopped them. I'm not sure banning Chinese gold farming is going to stop it at all. Nice try, though, People's Republic of China.

I think they would have a much easier time implementing that then the US dealing with gold hacks.

-They don't have to deal with the same stuff our judicial system has to go through. Allowing them to more easily gather information about who is pinging American servers from there and areas with unusual amounts of activity.

- Gold farming doesn't require any real ability in computer knowledge, while true hacking does, making it more difficult to find and stop hackers.

John does have a good point tho...it's one thing to pass a law, and quite another to enforce that law. Christianity is illegal in China, and yet there are reportedly over 100 million Christians in China.

I think what China is trying to do is ban the activity before their economy becomes at least somewhat dependent on it.
