Cheap (but good) ink cartridges?

I have an aversion to paying full retail price for anything except essential groceries. I set up my HP PSC (Printer/Scanner/Copier) 1410 earlier today and I couldn't find my black ink cartridge (model: HP Black 21).

I'm looking to buy a cheap replacement, but I don't want to buy a dud.

Where do you all buy your ink and would you recommend it to others?

i havent bought ink for a long time. i got a surplused hp laser 5 and after a year and about 3000 pages later i havent had to replace the toner yet. usually if you have like a local type store, eg cartridge world, you can get discounted stuff, otherwise super wal-mart or staples (with recycled rewards) are your best bet

Are there any stores in you area that can re-fill for you, that's usually the cheapest I've found around here.

$15 too much?

I saw a few places at $12.

We usually buy them at Office Depot or Costco.

But Costco would be cheaper since they sell in packages.

I get mine from Amazon. Sort by price and then read all the user ratings to judge the quality. The ones I get from there are even cheaper than getting refills and are pretty good quality for non-photographic household use.

As a side note, I also use thegrocerygame.com so I don't even have to pay full price for my groceries either ;)
