Fair warning.

If you had Server Admin or Channel Admin rights on the previous server, send me and Stc95 a PM so we can get you set up with SA or CA rights on the new server. If you were a Channel Admin, make sure to list which channel(s) you had CA rights for.

I don't want to open the server to the public without having at least a few more Server Admins and Channel Admins in place.

I suppose this will mean us users will have to upgrade our clients from TS2 to TS3?
It's a replacement rather than an upgrade, but yes. You'll need to install the TeamSpeak 3 client.

We'll probably keep the TeamSpeak 2 server online for a while after we get the TS3 server rolling, if only in the case of catastrophic failure.

You can have the TS2 and TS3 clients installed on the same computer at the same time (I have both installed on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with zero issues), so the transition should be a smooth one.

This should probably at least be posted in the Guild Wars subforum as well, since a lot of people don't check outside of there, and maybe other places, I don't know if people who frequent the other subforums are as isolated.

Anyhow, I'm a channel admin in most of the Guild Wars channels, along with the GW bible study channel and the HM event channels, as well as the HOLY channel.

So, starting tomorrow (Wednesday) I will finally have some free time to be able to configure and hash out whats left of the TS3 server. Hopefully it'll be able to go live by Friday. Thanks for your patience, and a big thanks to Tek for getting us thus far and being so gracious with me being MIA because of school.

I downloaded it earlier today, and I have much echo. I only had my own test mic to go by, but I don't know if it will stay echo-y eeeek. I need to find out what the lower echo Db means (w/e it called ) My headset/mic on this pc-PnP USB- wasn't working at first. Had to fiddle around to figure out what to pick to make it work, but finally did.

Need to install it on the other pc that I usually have TS up on and see how that works, and that has plain old reg headset/mic so hopefully.

I do hope to get it set up waaaay before we need it for an event!

Thanks

The Forgiven has been using their server for a little over a week, and it's working great so far. I haven't been watching bandwidth, but I know that overall quality does seem improved. It also added some much needed features from Vent (phonetics, et al).

Feedback is still an issue whenever you have two people in the room with open mic/speaker combos and set to VOX. Same applies if someone opens their mic and is trying to jump in without actually speaking. It gets very echo-y. But I don't know that this particular problem is any different between TS2 and TS3

In the setup, you're asked if you want PTT or VOX, and it ignores that when setting up your server, make sure you change your settings for the specific server once you join.

After that, you should be good to go. I also noticed in Win7 that I had to run as an admin so it could save my configuration files.

what is it that i need to download. I visited the TS website but just got confused. They have TS2, TS3 and TS3 SDK. I wasn't sure which one to pick and to be honest i didn't see any download options except for manuals.

You want the TS3 Client from their downloads page. You don't want the SDK, or a server version. Make sure you get a client. Most people will either need the Windows 32-bit or Windows 64-bit.

I hope we are up and running for the elite run this weekend, my ts2 just went bye bye again.

What do you mean "went bye bye"? Can't you just re-download it?

We don't even have connection info yet, so I wouldn't rely on getting a team set up with TS3 in one day for the mission.

It refused to acknowledge my password even with it saved. This is the umpteenth time this has happened. Last time stc had to set me up with a new pass that worked exactly one session. The generic pass and info gets me in only to the lobby. btw I have been in to the ts3 site already and it functioned flawlessly for me.

When you are logging in, are you using this info:

Server: cgalliance.org
Nickname: (can be anything)
Username: ursen
Password: YOUR password (not the server)

This picture should help give a visual aid, in case you haven't seen it before.

*sigh* finally got it filling in not only username but nickname, don't ask me why iit wanted a nickname too. I just think it don't like me is all. :P
