CGA Teamspeak Server Clarification and myth dispelling

I logged in and registered again.. Was quite interesting.. i think we had like 5/6 people in there before i went off to bed. Hopefully it picked up later on in the day.

What exactly is involved in testing? It would be relatively easy to tell the 35 people on vent to move to TS for the night, but if there were to be a lot of distractions (piping music was mentioned) then it wouldn't work for those playing WOW at the same time. I had a raid last night or I woulda come bugged you guys...Tek esspecially.

if i remember right, piping music is against the TS TOS and i dont believe anyone has done it on the CGA in the last 2 years. you should have come though, woulda been fun

Streaming music is against the ToS, but, if I understood Stc's post correctly, it would be permitted solely for the purpose of testing server bandwidth and load:
I really don't wanna go out there and say things hoping this to be one thing, but it actually turning out to be different. But I wouldn't worry about #4. Don't spam or make other people leave. But is someone wants to really stress test it with a little spam or something just let everyone know so they can mute or leave and do it for a sec or two. The main thing you have to worry about is making sure that you don't get anyone else mad. [...] and #5.. if everyone agrees go ahead, just make sure to turn it off when someone asks.

actually streaming needs to be strictly enforced due to the exponential bandwidth usage it causes...we can handle 100 folks in typical usage but if somebody starts streaming to 100 folks the total bandwidth needs will exceed out total 10 meg allocation by a factor of 2. Also royalties on streaming music are exceptionally high and we don't need somebody from soundexchange trying to kill us with royalty fees...google for what is happening to pandora and other streaming sites.

I don't think anyone did that anyways, and the testing period is over so you don't have to worry about it. But you guys should/could come over more often :)

What about Vocal singing?

Like my out-toned, 12 days of Starcraft Christmas. :p

Or the barking of Dogs?

*Woof Woof* *Woof Woof* *Arf Arf Arf*

I missed the first couple ones before I caught on that they were SC, what were they again?

and the dogs were funny too.

I just sang 12 and down. Singing 1 through 12 is very, very long.

IF Blizzard had other Starcraft songs, I wouldn't mind singing those too.

I fixed the WMP to play through my headset.

Its apparently set "default" on my speakers.

What exactly am I googling? This sounds interesting. I know that Ventrillo is designed to be integrated with itunes so their are several that play music on the vent server, including myself.....although there is a specific channel for music at this point since everyone has different tastes when it comes to that. There are instructions on how to do it on the ventrillo.com website even. Recording is turned off on all the channels, but I know there are likely ways around that.
