CGA Teamspeak Server Clarification and myth dispelling

yes you can turn off the notifications inside the ts2 client...however the admin kickfest is something we frown upon and watch out for..

I would assume there would be a way to turn it off as there is in vent, but I'm one of those weird people who like to hear when people join my conversations/channel or when friends log in.

actually gsm isn't the best..

  1. Speex 16.3 Kbit- Normal
  2. GSM 16.4 Kbit - about the same as above
  3. Speex 19.5 Kbit- Better
  4. Speex 25.9 Kbit- best
GSM's quality is debatable. I made it available due to some folks saying it sounds better than speex. speex though have better quality and use less cpu than gsm does.

Ah ok. Thanks for the fix. I didn't think I would get it right, the TS manual on that stuff wasn't very clear.

I got another question.

I thought about to see if TS worked with my old registration, oddly, it did.

I got to test my microphone and headset. I don't understand why I can hear my own voice when I play WMP.

I play YouTube, its coming from my Headset.
I play around through TS, its coming from my Headset.
I play anything with WMP, it coming from my Monitors Speakers.

I can literally record anything with WMP onto my Microphone.

IF anyone was in the same channel as me, they can hear music playing from my WMP.

Looking at my ping, I'm surprised its lower than everyone else, but I have a high PacketLoss than everyone else, is that bad?

Are you using a push to talk way as of communicating? or voice activation? If using VA than anything your mic picks up it will think you are talking. So if the dog barks, it plays the bark. If the TV's on it will play the TV. Also using a headset helps control that, but I see your already doing that. If you absolutely can't stand Push To Talk, than you can, under settings, change the VA sensitivity.

Or you may be talking about something totally different.

Also we are on a 6 month termination sweep. Accounts that have been MIA for 6+ months will be wiped. The next scheduled sweep is sometime in October.

I personally use voice activation, but I switch my mic button on/off as needed on my headset cord. I don't know much else about how to help ya, maybe you need to set WMP to play through your headset.

Dont forget the stress test is on thursday :)
Marked the date on my Outlook calendar to help remind myself.

I'll try to be on as long on Thursday as my schedule allows.

Ach, sorry. I'm started to get my forums confused. I thought this thread was about re-scheduling the Tribe of Judah Web Team meeting.

Aye, I can be on TeamSpeak during the day to help stress test on Thursday, but I'll likely idle or log off after my wife gets home.

But I still plan to be on for as long my and my wife's plans allow on Thursday.

I won't have any mic on, but if you mean tomorrow, I will re-register in TS and leave it on while I work. I can't promise my son won't bang on some keys and somehow make it say "GRLRB KTHA EH BOOOOOO" with the text-to-speech thing.

How does the stress test suppose to test out?

The max of people on 1 channel or the # of people using their mics altogether?

For my question previously, I was worried because of the TS rules.

Specifically, rules #4 & 5.

I can play music through YouTube, but does seem annoying I have to listen to music with a internet connection.

O_O someone actually read my rules?!? That's a first!!

You make me happy Corpfox.

I really don't wanna go out there and say things hoping this to be one thing, but it actually turning out to be different. But I wouldn't worry about #4. Don't spam or make other people leave. But is someone wants to really stress test it with a little spam or something just let everyone know so they can mute or leave and do it for a sec or two. The main thing you have to worry about is making sure that you don't get anyone else mad. Hopefully this will be an opportunity to get some people from Guild Wars and people from other parts of CGA/ToJ together and mingle. So keep that in mind when your conversing.

and #5.. if everyone agrees go ahead, just make sure to turn it off when someone asks.

I shall be redownloading TS when i get home from work.. I expect to see the server hopping by the time i figure out how to login again.

Alright, its 9:33 PST 12:33 EST so unofficially the stress test day is over. (PST FTW! :))

Anyways I looked on the TS users and it tells me when users were last online. To my count today we had 28 members log onto the TS server, and we had 5 new registered members bringing a total to 33 people.

so yay!! more people! Of course now I expect to see 50 people on tomorrow ;).

So GJ guys, hope you had fun and got to talk with all our cool CGA/ToJ friends.

Oh, also those 33 people are officially safe from the Scheduled October wipe! :D
