CGA establishment date?

Tek7 (Legacy)

CGA & ToJ President
Can anyone track down and post the date that the Christian Gamers Alliance was established? If so, I would greatly appreciate it.

I joined in December of last year, so it must have been around at least by then. Um, that would make it, what, at least four months?...

The oldest posts I can find by searching the archives are from last march (2003) but I could not find a specific date, sorry.

eh if we can find the oldest member here then we should be able to find out and i thought tek7 was the eldest. what bout that jammer dude?

I think I have a copy of some of the old website before it went to phpnuke. I'll see if any of it has dates.

There are a lot of us old croonies who should know the date.

Jammer7 might know, Maddmedic might know, myself might know...speaking for myself, I don't recall either.  Its been years.  Long long long long long time.  Geez, way back when I used to have an @cgalliance.net email address.

Edit:

I thought it was in May of 2001. Then I did a whois on cgalliance.net and it was registered May 7 2001. I think this is about right.

Already e-mailed Jammer and Daniel but haven't received a reply yet. I also have a copy of the old site lying around somewhere; I'll check that as well.

Yeah, you're right on the ball.

I know it was around back in 2001, and I think a little before. Tek, I remember that when I had that Starcraft clan back in 2001 that CGA was around. This is back when they really only supported Starcraft and maybe one or two other games.

Just confirming in my mind the history.

If you didn't know, Jammer7 and I are cousins. Back in Spt 1998, he was out my way for my brothers wedding. Back then, he was very green to the internet. Shortly after that, in the summer of 1999, I went and visited him. That is when he told me all about Seven Seals. I joined up a little later, likely Winter of 99 or Spring of 2000. It was about a year after that, that CGA came to be and Seven Seals ceased. Which would be again, putting the date to spring of 2001. I am pretty confident that it was in or about May 2001.

It would be interesting to see what Jon and Dan come back with

Okay. I went through some old e-mails on my home PC last night and it looks like the Christian Gamers Alliance was established in April 2001. Daniel started designing the first CGA web site in April and we picked up the cgalliance.net domain in May.

By the by, I save nearly all my e-mails, so you all might have to endure a brief CGA history lesson some time soon.

Well, I use POP3 accounts with a POP3 client (Outlook 2003, to be specific) and have e-mails dating back as far as 1996 saved on my machine.

As for total space occupied by e-mails on my PC? I believe it's over 150MB. Heh. ^_^;;

2001 sounds right for CGA. I think I joined ToJ in 1998 ?? I know it was shortly after I purchased Starcraft.
I found Seven Seals in 1999(98 ??)..I met Jon, Dan and Corin somehow..don't ask cause I don't remember, and got Tek and Jon, or maybe Travis cause he was around then, connected and we all started gaming on the Seven Seals server.
And it seems to have snowballed somewhat !!
See I did do something right once upon a time !!!
