CGA dedicated server migration

We're moved over to the new server, the forums are back online (as you can see), and the Mumble server is up and running again as well.

That's the good news.

The bad news:

The Mumble channel viewer will no longer work as I was never able to resolve the HTTP 500 errors that kept MumPI from functioning properly.

The forums private messaging (PM) system is currently bugged and throwing HTTP 500 errors when trying to read or send PMs.

The TF TeamSpeak 3 server is currently offline, but a TS3 server should be online at the default port (not 9988) as soon as Joshinator sees my e-mails and is able to get it up and running.

Stay tuned to this thread for status updates. Please also post to this thread if you encounter any errors with the forums or voice chat servers.

I WAS WITHOUT CGA FOR LIKE FOREVER! I was pressing refresh over and over with my nose an inch from the screen and getting more and more desperate. Why you so cruel T_T.

Anywho have you decided which chat program we are going with or are you still going to see if Mumble can be fixed? Not that it really matters to me since I don't use either, just wondering.

Thanks for your work Tek!

Note: CGA is my browser homepage for what it's worth and has been for years.

True, there wasn't much notice of the downtime, but we did post a blurb to our Twitter feed.

Mumble's up and running right now.

I never did get MumPI working, though, so we're without a web-based control panel and channel viewer.

As for what voice chat server we go with for the long term: Stay tuned to the forums over the next couple of days.

Thanks for your work Tek!
Lloren and our hosting provider, Abba Communications, did most of the server migration work, with Lloren doing most of the heavy lifting. I took care of the Mumble server migration because I would have felt way too guilty handing that off to Joshinator.

Very cool. :) Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

mumble doesn't work with centos AND it's not playing nice in other ways as well.
What he said.

I think this blurb from the Mumble wiki sums it up nicely:

Please see the Install CentOS5 page for both packaged and manual murmur installation instructions. Mumble is not easily built on this platform at this time, and there are no official packages (yet?).
Source: Installing Mumble

And it looks like there will likely never be official Mumble packages for CentOS.
