I got to play tonight with a couple of ya had allot of fun!! I'm having problems with the Mic seems steam games love ya run off rear mic. Every time i load new map/game it reset my mic back to front mic(default) in Volume Control panel, and i have to tab out to reset it. In L4D I had the same problem but I found a code to type in fix it in that game. Anyone know how fix this in TF2?

Very new to game, I read the forums and playing to learn the game and there maps. I'm not very good at shooter games but I sure am having fun. Look forward to playing with you all!!

Did a little bit of digging found this

Go to your steam directory then follow to;

Steam\Steamapps\\Team Fortress 2\tf\cfg

In the "cfg" folder, look for a file called Config.cfg and open it. Search for the cvars, voice_enable "1" and voice_forcemicrecord "1". Make sure they are set to "1". If you do not have a Config.cfg file, make a new notepad file, put voice_enable "1" and voice_forcemicrecord "1" in that file, and save it as Config.cfg.

Ah I am sorry I don't know anything about the mic issue you are having. A quick google brought me to this https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5159-QYFK-0185. It a similar problem on Counter Strike. I'd suggest altering voice_forcemicrecord from 1 to 0 in your config.cfg, then restart TF2 and see if that works.

Have you changed the settings in Steam itself? Right click Steam icon in your task bar -> Voice -> Change Device maybe?

You need to change the settings in Steam. you can do it ingame from the shift-tab menu. The problem is the Steam Cloud overwrites the settings everytime it syncs.

I'd suggest altering voice_forcemicrecord from 1 to 0 in your config.cfg, then restart TF2 and see if that works.
