ok well my brother was on my account and well he seemed to be using some hacks, i told him to take them off or not use my account but he is bigger than me and just told me to shut up they are undetecable so of course i did shut up and no more than 10 mins later he was caught and it got me ban from all protected servers, if someone has an extra cd key laying around or someway to change them i have about 30 that are in use i would just need to change one, if you could help that would be awesome!! thanks!

Suggestion: Before ruining another CD key, create or have your parents create two separate Windows profiles (if running Windows 2000 or XP) and install Half-Life ONLY to your profile. There are even some security settings to specifically block your brother from your account.

This is just a basic idea; I don't know if it would work if tested, so don't hold me to it. ^_^;;

Ya, don't give him Administrative access - make him a restricted user. Restricted user's can't install anything!

And this is why as a parent, I'll be a super user on EVERY computer that exists in my house.

And if I happen to find out that I'm not. oooh. poor computer. It needs repair and reformatting

It'd be easy to get around. Even if you had a 25 alpha numeric pass string

Get handy-dandy linux sys boot cd
stick it into the cd tray.
do a hard reboot
when the prompt appears
Mount C:
Del c:\*
Unmount C:
change the linux cd for the windows install cd
reboot
wait 2 hours, with occasional prompt answer
reboot once again

and they're in! See, it's easy to get around

my parents were gone for a couple months once, and they have their computer locked when it starts up(you know the silly little key thingy or whatever... and I really needed to get on their computer for some odd reason, I think it was a file or whatever...

So I take the cmos battery out and it erased the password

, and they never did mention anything about it when they got back! rofl

his embarcing baby pictures, as far as the cd key goes

Ghost why not make it so that you have to type your windows log on password, type a password to get logged into steam, and maybe even content protect CS everytime you get done with a password, seems like a lot of stuff to do, but it could be 3 different passwords all 16 chars long, good luck for your brother unless he is a real computer nerd 2
