Brother Witnessed Murder

My brother, who is a member of Redeemed (WoW TOJ Guild), witnessed the murder of the group home supervisor who was stabbed 28 times by a 16 year old. The stabbing occurred on my brother's bed by his roomate. Please pray for my brother, the victims family, and for the murderer as well.

The group home is a home for violent teenagers. My brother is bi-polar type 1. One of the doctors that reviewed his case mentioned to my mother that my brother has the worst case he has ever seen in his long career. Since he has gone to the group home, I believe he hasn't had an outburst. But, he had an outburst a few days before he went so he may not have had time to.

As of Sunday, when the stabbing occurred, all of the teens were removed from the home pending an investigation of the murder. I am not sure where he was taken to or what they are doing, but because he was a primary witness (watched it occur), I imagine he will be in and out of court.

As of now, and as far as I know, the suspect is still at large.

UPDATE:

I got more information from my mother and grandmother regarding exactly what happened. I won't go into the gorey details but I will explain what happened to the best of my knowledged (pieced together from watching and reading news and listening to my mother and grandmother).

The kid that killed the supervisor was told to go to sleep or get ready for bed. He refused and had a violence episode. When the supervisor turned his back on the kid, the kid pulled out a knife and started stabbing the supervisor (at the foot of my brother's bed). He then ran out of the house, grabbing the keys to the group home's mini-van. The supervisor chased the kid outside the house and died on the front lawn.

After the kid drove off in the mini-van, my brother ran to the police station and told them what happened. The police arrived at the scene and the supervisor was already dead (contrary to what was reported on the news, the newspaper stated correctly while the news on t.v. was wrong). Instead of allowing my brother to sleep or eat, they kept him up almost all night interrogating him. They had no "real" suspects in the case exception my brother and the remaining group home kids (since the kid that actually did it was not present nor was there proof the kid was even real [as in made up by my brother]).

The other day, they found the van in southern California, and we believe the kid left to Mexico.

The following day (after the incident), my brother was moved back into Juvenile Hall where he stayed 1 day. He wasn't eating or sleeping and he was withdrawn. The officers on duty reported this to his probation officer and so his probation officer picked him up and moved him to a new group home. This new group home is ran by a CHRISTIAN group and is based on a Ranch in Madera, CA. It has horses, a swimming pool, a tennis court, it's own school, man...it has everything! The downside is, he is allowed NO contact from the outside world for 30 days! That is the rule anyways (Adjustment period), but they are bending it under his circumstances and allowing contact from our mother via phone (no in-person contact). I'm not allowed to make contact with him nor he me for 30 days (about 28 days left). <sigh> I raised that kid and I'm not allowed to visit :(

He is still withdrawn but at least he is eating and trying to get back into the routine of things.

Please continue praying for him, my family, the deceased's family, and the murderer. The murder that he will be caught, but more importantly, that he may find the salvation that can only be given to him through Jesus Christ.

sounds rough, least hes in a good facility now.

friend of my moms son has a mental illness and the palce they sent him didnt take good care of him at all. now hes with family (i think) who live on a farm by themselves.
 
New update :)

My brother has been at the christian boys ranch in Madera for quite some time now (just over a month) and we found out, amazingly and wierdly, that Lukey (WoW Redeemed member) is part of the supervisor's (or something) there!!!! We have been praying for a strong Christian male presence to be in my brother's life (besides his own brothers) and voila, God sends Lukey....that a good thing??? <shrug> In any case, God works in very strange ways indeed....

My family is very happy that my brother is in Lukey's capable hands...

this thread frightened me o.o i'm glad it turned out okay for your brother but i don't think i would be able to unsee a murder... it's really scary.....

W00t an update for everyone on this!!! After a few months of no updates :)

The teenager that murdered the group home advisor has been caught! He was apprehended while he was trying to re-enter the United States from Mexico! Now comes the scary part...my brother as well as others may have to testify against him....if this is true, and since the kid is a known gang member, he may try to retaliate against my little brother...
 
Glad he's caught, and I know it's going to be scary testifying against him. Depending on which gang the kid is part of... the backlash could be none (or very little) at all.

How's your brother been taking all of this?

He's doing good. We are hoping it scared him straight. He was in the group home for several counts of assault on my mother and sister. He's getting better afaik and he hasn't had an episode for awhile now. He's bi-polar type 1 and has extremely violent episodes (doesn't care about anyone ... just what he wants, when he wants it). He's learning to control it and only God can help (nothing else has).
