I'm looking to see if I can boot up (i mean like kick up) the Computer bootup time. It has gotten slower over the years. *No duh!* I use norton syswrks, and it gets tons of stuff. But i figured something else out. go to "run" and type in "msconfig" i was wondering if it is ok to select "diagnostic startup" instead of normal, but will that make it NOT load when I need it to?

go start>run>msconfig and go to the tab on the right and it has all the programs that boot when u run ur computer. disable everything u want to. that greatly helps.

um... but u didn't answer my question! :( Some programs that are optional, (that we installed on the comp) we want, but we don['t know. ack. well, diagnostic mode is ok right?

lol, on the very very right. the tabs will read: general, system.ini,win.ini,boot.ini, services and startup. go to startup and disable whatever u want, like aim, steam, msn msnger, nero startup, etc
