Blizzard's New Shiny Purchaseable Mount - Celestial Steed

they are catching on, virtual property will be a great source of revenue. I have seen this mount in game already (I just logged on to see three of them side by side). It will be pretty common place.

They're going like hotcakes! Honestly, I rather Blizzard use things like this as a source of additional revenue from the game, instead of slapping us all with some kind of vague "service fee" on our subscription.
 
Let's be generous and say it took a programmer 200 hours to develop @ a whopping $150/hour:

200 hours x $150 = $30,000 development cost.

Selling over 100,000 in the US alone = $2.5M US (and that doesn't count Canada or Europe...). I quite jealous of Blizzard's ability to make money, like gobs of it. :p







Oh, and I may have bought one too... :o

Looks like they wanted a little bit of quick funding for whatever reason. Good grief, most developers would kill for that kind of quick cash. :eek:
 
I think it is a great idea. Won't get one myself, they will be a dime a dozen. I have seen 7 of them already sitting on the dalaran south bank stairs
 
I'm fine with fluff items for real money. I would be sorely disappointed to find Blizzard selling gear for real money. I hope it never comes to that.
 
I think this is great idea, and gratz to anyone who wanted one, and got one :) I wont be getting one, but I know some people REALLY enjoy this kind of thing.
