Black Friday shopping

I'm not sure why, but my wife and I decided to participate in the post Thanksgiving (aka Black Friday) insanity this morning. We set our alarm clocks for 3:30am and made it to Circuit City at 3:40am. There were at least 100 people in line in front of us :eek: :( Out of morbid curiousity, I asked the people sitting in folding chairs by the door what time they started waiting, the answer: 7:30. That's right, 7:30PM, 9.5 hours before they opened!

A few high points, we have almost all our shopping done for Christmas, all the mail-in-rebates are on the counter ready to go in the mail after I make a few photo copies of the receipts and UPC's. I was also able to pick up the first 2 components of a computer I am planning to build soon.

The low point... I'm really tired.
 
So I rounded out the day by going on a GW shopping spree too. I finally decided that the desert collecor's armor wasn't good enough for Loew and cashed in a lot of materials and plat on 15K Kurzick Cabalists Armor (+energy). I'll post screenshots some other time.

I have spent in the neighborhood of 150k today on weapons and runes. Who says men don't shop?

Whats the old saying? Women will spend $1.00 on a $3.00 item that she doesn't need. Men will spend $3.00 on a $1.00 item because they do need it.
 
I got a $20 dollar Xbox wireless controller for $10. The comic shop I frequent also had a sale on all of their old comics. (30% off) I also got Gears of War at Wal Mart for $55. I bought God of War at EB games along with the controler for $19, because it was used, not because it was on sale.
 
I read comic books faithfully when I was young. It will surprise you to know that I used to save my money just to buy "funny books" as we called them.

The first prices I remember was 12 cents each. I thought the world would end when the priced jumped to 20 cents each.
 
Now they cost about $2.50 or $3.00. The first issue of the new Punisher War Journal series cost me $2.55. I had the owner hold me a copy, because she only had one left. She normally doesn't hold them for people, but where friends. :)
 
i went out to staples at 3am and thankfully i was the first there and got a $400 laptop :D so happy, and it plays GW decently too on minimum graphics, and i need to upgrade the ram sometime soon but im pretty pleased with it.

but thats not as fun. seriously its awesome, i met a chinese guy who is doing his masters in communicatios which is the degree im gonna go for next fall, and he helps teach the undergraduate classes, meaning i'll prolly have him as a teacher at the university. pwnage

I stayed far away from all shopping venues on Friday. My grandmother used to drag me to malls and stuff, even as an adult. (Sometimes it's not nice to refuse your grandmother, you know? :) )

Saturday, I went one place only: HOBBY LOBBY! Great sale. :) Spent lots, but it was all on sale or purchased with a coupon; I also only bought stuff I needed or for gifts. And yes, Paul went with me. :)

We have bought (or I have made) a good chunk of our gifts; we try to spread out our purchases throughout the year.

Ya she just bought all of mine so shes loaded! :D

well instead of spending i made money over the weekend. i made about 10$ RL and 15K GW.

I love Hobby Lobby coupons! It's a sale every other week on anything I want. :D
